I'm cool with this, as long as my OnePlus stays blazing fast UI-wise. That's what I like the most about OxygenOS, they have optimized it amazingly well.

Most of oppo and OnePlus will have same specs and design.... If the os s same, there is no point in having two same company launching same phone except name of brand.

It's 2021 and people are still comparing iOS to Android and vice versa. Grow up. Don't like it, don't use it. Not too difficult to understand eh?

Hold on, why so much hate? OxygenOS has been looking mostly like ColorOS since 2 years ago, this codebase unification will result in more consistent update schedules and improved camera performance, while the features that are unique to OOS will most likely remain unchanged. This is supposed to be good news (Also, in case you're considering switching to Samsung's One UI or Xiaomi's MIUI just because "OxygenOS is no longer like a stock Android!".. I can assure you that you will be heavily disappointed).

LostAnyCredibility, 20 Sep 2021Back in January, Oneplus basically lied that OxygenOS will ... moreOnePlus had claimed on social media that OxygenOS and ColorOS will have a unified codebase for better maintainability, and today they made an official announcement for it. According to the article, "the so-called “unified” OS will be customized for OnePlus devices" - suggesting that the Android skin that Oppo phones and OnePlus phones will have from next year will still have somewhat different feature sets.

Oh look, the comment section is full of haters, you guys seriously fail to realize that the merge could help OnePlus' software support and camera algorithm, but go ahead say OnePlus is dead or whatever, like I give a f*ck about strangers' opinions when picking a new phone.

Otherwise, you cannot break away from Apple's fees in every purchase (i.e., no 3rd-party stores), their discretionary anti-competitive measure (i.e., if they feel a service like xCloud will compete with them down the line, then it's banned from the only store and that's it), arbitrary search for "certain pictures" and "inspection" before reporting to authorities (i.e., so many false positives and "moderators" looking at private photos), not to mention their proprietary charging port just to make a few bucks and add extra inconvenience, or the crackdown on independent repair and censorship of data recovery services (i.e., they'll insist the data from the damaged phone is lost when in fact it could be recovered by 3rd-parties who care to do the job).

Have fun supporting the fruity evil empire.

I wpuld not be surprised if all 1+ phones from 2022 are just Oppo rebranded.
Like redmi/poco are just lables on xiaomi phones.

Just like how they treated oxygen OS 11, stable release that full of bugs and almost unusable release, so sure you can say it would be "better" but many OP users don't buy it. Besides you can't even provide AOD to Op7pro which hast the same chipset as galaxy s10 which has AOD. If it has battery drain issue let us deal with it, you promised and some are willing to deal with battery drain to have AOD

                                      Just another oppo phone.

Seriously, samsung is the now the only king of UI. I know there are many features that are useless to few, but thats the beauty of android. You have options. I don’t have them in my ipad and i feel sad. My phone can do so much more than ios 14. I wish ios 15 changes something
