If it was like keyboard-cover and alternative screen for tablets, it would be useful to me. Would need to be 12inch though.

The real advantage the Kindle has over a tablet like iPad mini is that you can still read on it with comfort in bright sunlight. So, for a holiday on the beach, the Kindle definitely has advantages over tablets.

iPad mini makes a good e-reader. you can have both apps Apple Books and Kindle.
