And no, Honor would have no reason to use HarmonyOS even if they ended up being banned.

Really looking forward to how the mono and rgb combo performs especially in low light hope Gsmarena gets to review it

Will they switch to Harmony OS if as rumors suggest they will be banned from USA tech? That will make Honor back to 4G like Huawei. What a lol, they could end with worse cameras than before the split, like now, plus be in the same situation

Roman5, 23 Sep 2021So it's similar in a way to what the Nokia 9 Pureview ... moreNokia (and Sony) used a monochrome sensor for sensitivity improvement in the past, whereas it has been used to increase the resolution of an image on Huawei and Honor phones. A binned 12.5MP output from the main 50MP sensor is overlapped with the pure luminance information from the 64MP monochrome sensor to achieve better detail rendition, pretty clever stuff.

Finally, much-needed update for Magic 3's "pretty decent but clearly not P50 grade" camera system. The improvement in detail resolving capability seems very promising, hopefully GSMArena will be able to review the unit with this software update installed soon.

So now the camera can go from horrible to a little less horrible. Good job! Thumps up.

Love it, finally... Just miss the Kirin and EMUI, but still it looks nice 👍🏻

When will be released Honor Magic 3 Pro + in Europe ???

Many old devices wrongly had RGB + mono with different sizes and aperture diameter, instead of being equal to provide same DOF.

I would gladly trade UWA for wide monochrome.

                              Roman5, 23 Sep 2021So it's similar in a way to what the Nokia 9 Pureview ... moreThe main RGB+Monochrome similar since Huawei P9, a 2016 phone.

The AI fusion tech is actually using Super Res algorithm, fuse between certain focal length, using both 50mp + 12mp pixel binned, or 50mp + telephoto, the same as Huawei P40 and afterwards.

Thats why its quality from main (x1) to at least x2.5 zoom quality are like a lossless zoom.

So it's similar in a way to what the Nokia 9 Pureview did? That's pretty cool

I'm excited about this. The first proper Honor phone to come with GMS in a long while and looks like a great phone. Hope it makes it here.
