Nexus 4 available at Carphone Warehouse, costs dearly

Buying a Nexus 4 outside the Play Store in Europe is just ridiculous for the price decided by LG. In Italy (where we can't buy it in the Play Store) it will be sold at €549 instead of 349!

Well, this explains why the Nexus 4 is out of stock in BOTH capacities in the Google Play store. They sold the majority of their stock to CPW for contract customers!
Pain as we were ready to order a 16G. Worse, Google have no 'Notify me when they are back in stock' option so will have to keep doing a reload every day. Truth is, they are going to lose customers who will get a different phone instead, such as the almost as powerful high end HTC models etc. Not sure this is good business because people KNOW they can get the Nexus 4 for £280 online so won't spend more at CPW. IE, CPW will be left with stock and Google won't have any to sell online! Or maybe I'm wrong and people will get it on contract?

As an employee I'm surprised at the amount of people who come in and but it at the sim free price, even though i tell them its more that £100 cheaper from the Google store.

Two prices for one phone...this is really frustrating. I would rather nt wait for it anymore and get an htc one x. Thanx lg
