Anonymous, 28 Sep 2021So I'm not sure what you're going on about. There is no censorship filter on Xiaomi phones using global roms. Only phones with China rom has it.

Also, XDA looked into the files and failed to find any proof that backs up Lithuania's claim.. now do you see the pattern?

I skimmed through the original report and it stresses not the specific terms being censored, but the whole censorship mechanizm which can be remotely activated at any time, even in global ROMs.
Also, network activity analysis revealed Xiaomi phones sending invisible encrypted text messages to servers in Singapore to register phone numer with their cloud servers. Again, this capability can be used to send out other sensitive user data without the knowledge of the user.
All that doesn't sound very safe privacy wise.

It is not even claiming censorship on phones with the EU rom. It just mentions that this function has been deactivate but could potentially be activated at any time. Of course it is activated on Xiaomi phones with Chinese ROMs but that doesn't matter as they are not under the rules of the EU in any case.

It is for a reason that the governments around the world are so concerned about security and privacy when it comes to chinese phones or them trying to establish cellular networks around the world

In my opinion chines companies are going to be ahead and i don't know why some organisations don't let chines companies free.I mean a lot of banes blame of spying Data and a lot but I support chines companies they are fantastic i want to give them love i don't want to point to any company but they are best & affordable.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2021There is nothing pornographic about those search terms. Thi... moreIt's the standard Chinese practice to ban things. Ban this, block that, ban that, suppress them, jail this, censor this or that etc

They ban and censor things on a regular basis. It's like a core part of their system there and a way of dealing with things by simply banning it to get rid of it instead of facing the problem.

Someone mentioned the pooh cartoon and talked about the prime minister ? Okay just ban pooh
Someone talked about a certain topic ? Jail them
Or if some doctor warned them of a pandemic ? Yea alright just jail them too
Google entered China ? Ban Google
Ban Facebook, ban whatsapp ban all Western apps and just ban everything

Every company in China has to report to the government and do what asked even if that is unlawful or illegal
And then they want to setup their 5G cellular networks all over the world

It's clear why the governments around the world are getting to get rid of the Chinese dependency etc

Google/Youtube/Twitter/FB/Wikipedia censor very heavily. But I don't like Chinese phones, Samsung for me.

It would be nice if US and European people focus more on local issues, instead of crying about chinese censorship... Its very easy to complain about stuff that is far away when companies that work in your own country do the same things
