It seems obvious now that an update is coming because the price for the OLD GTR2/GTS2 is falling dramatically at online shopping sites. I hope they are bringing a significant upgrade & enhancement this time instead of small incremental improvements.

There is lots of room for improvement in these watches including the phone-based APP which sucks big time! Eliminating the screen bezel would be a good step forward to max screen real estate. Upgrading the chipset; maybe qualcomm 5100 which is the current spec, with more on-board memory and the OS needs to fit with the rest-of-the-world in terms of downloadable APPs like "maps" etc which will demand memory. There is LOTS of room for improvement but I doubt if they will bring Amazfit into the top end of smartwatches.

Love my 2e. Almost perfect. It's more of an enhanced fitness tracker than a smartwatch but it does the things I care about. Heart rate, sleep tracking, exercise tracking, and spO2 tracking. Syncs with Google Fit. Costs a lot less than a smartwatch which does more but is less snappy and has to be charged every day.
Looking forward to the 3

There is not a single Amazfit (or any other Chinese brand) watch or band that is accurate enough to measure intensive workouts. The prices have gone up, but the quality is still mediocre.

Well, it's the last time I ever bought amazfit watches. Let me explain.
After updates BIP U which is waaaay cheaper than gtr 2e, has more options - for example BIP u can be used to use camera shutter. While using almost the same UI, gtr 2e cannot.
Can't even use both smartwatches - one for gym, and one as regular daily cause while changing connection from one to another, some activity data is lost. Shame on you Amazfit.

amazing battery life should be preserved but,hope they upgrade sensors.HR and GPS were quite unusable in previous gen.

What are you talking about? This thing has one of the longest battery life among smart watches.
