Justiin, 23 Nov 2012I wonder if LTE will work on Australian networks, with the ... moreJustin our networks in OZ i'm pretty sure are Band 3.
Currently looks like only band 4 has been tested.
That doesnt mean it wont work, it just means we need someone in Oz who has the Nexus 4 to try it and report.
Its a tempting phone, but no micro SD card is a deal breaker for me, need the extra space and dont want to be downloading files/music/pictures/movies from the cloud when i can access it directly off a storage card..

The chip supports it so it was obvious that the carriers disabled it. You see people... OEM are not the enemy. The greedy carriers are. There is always a cost in buying a subsidized phone...

I think they disabled LTE because they would have to pay a the LTE fee which is approx 50$ (not sure per phone) and since LTE doesn't really cater to the average user (Don't really got LTE in Europe; Patchy in the states) they disabled it.
They probably knew that it will be discovered sooner or later...
Either way, I think it is nice, and I am stoked to find out whether they have LTE in Spain or Germany...

Not so surprising news. Its because of the S4 Pro. Selected processors of S4 pro have LTE modem inside.
