They should bring these phones outside of Japan, they could be quite good phones if they're priced right. I would honestly buy a sense6 if they don't make it too expensive.

No mention about the weight for the zero6 though, so I would take the claim with a grain of salt.

Well if you want to buy one of these phones later, there is a solution, for example kyoex, an online shop which is located in Kyoto. Another one is from Russia, j-phone.
By the way it is good to see Sharp Zero is back at the basics. The original Zero was meant to be lightweight. For some reason the predecessor was not a lightweight phone, and I am glad they made the Zero 6 lightweight again.
I am also curious, their next year flagship will rock multiple cameras or not? If somehow they can put a periscope camera next to the 1 inch sensor, that would be awesome!

Oneplus fan, 29 Sep 2021High refresh rate but weak chipset. Man phone is llightweight tus is thin and for that the CPU it have is good enough.
SD888 with super slim body make this oveargeating a lot.

Giving SD888 to a super slim phone not only make it really costly but also much more overheating.

Skil, 30 Sep 2021It is black frame indeed. Yes. That is correct. I am Japanese and I can confirm that they put black frame between frames at 120Hz so that they call it 240Hz.

SHARP may be one of the few remaining Japanese companies that makes smartphones for the masses. I applaud their latest offering, which unlike mainstream Chinese and Korean companies who keeps pushing for the latest and largest camera, Sharp is actually focusing on things that matters (to regular Joes and janes out there) like smoother screen refresh, which greatly reduces fatigue when viewing the phone for long hours. A lot of people assume fast display refresh rates are strictly for gaming - HOW WRONG! fast display refresh smooths animations, and scrolling. No more rubber band or blur images when you pull up a task, or a scrolling a menu item. It makes a big difference, just like how a 120Hz display appeared so buttery smooth compared to a regular 60Hz screen. And now we have 240Hz, totally welcomed. And next, talk about the weight of the phone. This is a light weight device that will again, be comfortable to use for long periods because less stress and fatigue is put on your arms. I personally would never get a phone that will pull my sweat pants down when I walk across the car park, so I always buy the lightest phone that could still meet my personal requirements.

Would love the see Sharp work on improving image through better Computational Photography Algorithms, as well as improvements to hardware (sensor, OIS, sharper glass, better ISP etc).

Meanwhile most monitors oled panels are still stuck at 60hz for outrages prices :) (unless we count LG's CX 48 inches "monitor")

[deleted post]yeah agree... I'm from Singapore, have been using/used several models of Sharp Aquos phones from the various Japanese telco since 2014... a bit troublesome though to get APN settings to ensure 4G can work, also some features like NFC will be disabled as software detected location out of Japan... I've not tried any new model from 2020 onwards yet though as no dealer brought in any yet plus a lot more costly to bring in now...
missed those days in the past where I get to test and own smartphones from Sharp, Fujitsu, Toshiba, NEC and Panasonic... and will always strike a conversation and make new friends once we chance upon meeting someone else who uses or during buy/sell trades a rare phone model out of the millions of common off-the-shelves phones...
