90htz screens are ideal balance

Get a life people. 60hz is the only thing you will ever need on a phone. No 120hz BS would ever be needed. And don't mention games please. No normal person will play anything serious than candy crush, if not, just get a life :)

Wereweeb, 04 Oct 2021OLED makes a HUGE difference. 60hz is only "worse"... moremy s20FE lasts 18 hours with 120hz panel, considering it will last much more with a vatiable refresh rate screen, and me sleeping in the other 6 hours of the day, its ok, by your logic we should still be using black and white screens since it provides better battery life

Wereweeb, 04 Oct 2021OLED makes a HUGE difference. 60hz is only "worse"... moreNah, IPS displays can look nice still.
120hz is a big diference for me and i rarely play games on my phone. Im talking more about the UI/System with these silky smooth animations.
Why do you censor the letter a on gamer? 🤔

GAMIRSFM, 04 Oct 2021Well ofcouse it doesn't make you use the phone any bet... moreOLED makes a HUGE difference. 60hz is only "worse" if you're a g*mer used to 120hz displays - otherwise it just drains the battery. No thanks! 60hz for me.

And I'll stand by that at least until solid-state batteries and someone (EU or Right to Repair movement) forces these companies to keep making and selling original batteries to consumers for ≈5 years after launch.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2021Since you mention endurance rating, this is what I can gath... moreNo it doesn't. Loss of 10hr endurance rating is equivalent of losing less than 10% battery.
These phones have SOT around 6.5-8hr with only rog having 10 plus hours.
1.5hr-2hr gain in SOT means almost 25% improvement in endurance rating which is clearly not the case.

That also explains why Apple puts 120Hz ProMotion screens on their best iPads & iPhones right? It's because Apple thinks the difference isn't worth it now I understand 👍

It doesn't matter which way you look, it's a clear fact that high refresh rate consumers a lot of battery juice. 10 hours of endurance rating difference is not a small amount, it can easily equate to an extra 1.5 to 2 hours of SOT.

Well, I'm the minority. I don't really care about refresh rate. I have 60hz now and it's a huge noticeable difference from 30hz. My friends showed me UI with 120hz, but that seems... worse for me in a way tht I would prefer saving my battery.
P.S. I play a lot but not lots-fps-required games like fortnite, mmorpg etc.
