        Windows just works and works flawlessly.
        I want to get work done, not worry about app compatibility or some bug because of the handicapped nature of the Mac operating system.

          Besides, I am not interested in downgrading to Mac OS. Why would I run Mac OS when I can run Windows out of the box on a much superior machine?

          In my country, MacBook with 1tb ssd costs same as Legion 5 pro with 1tb ssd
          ( the model I bought).

          Even if MacBook 1tb was available at 1/4th the price of the Legion 5 pro, I wouldn't buy it.
          I am not interested in a device that will force me to make compromises on multiple fronts.
          Money is no bar, if one is guaranteed the premium experience of Windows OS.

          Besides, everyone knows exactly who you are. I don't engage in discussions with the technically challenged. There is a reason why I ignored all your posts and will be doing so in the future. This is the last time I am replying to you. Don't bother replying to my posts again.

Literally the CHEAPEST de... moreYeah good luck with that $900 M1 with 8GB of ram in a few years, not even being able to upgrade it... This thing will swap to ssd memory like crazy if you open more than 2 chrome tabs and some office suite at the same time, radically decreasing the lifespan of the ssd. Which you also can't upgrade. Have fun with that crippled down machine then. Still don't get how it's a hidden ripoff? But they will sell you happily a new machine. With M1X which will throttle like crazy because hey build the MBAir so slim, not being able to cool down 8 perf. cores enough. Just like the new A15 inside the iPhones does. Down to ~65%. Nice. While AMD and Intel will come up with new models too with a big performance increase.

                    Literally the CHEAPEST device with ryzen 7 5800h is still $200 more than the macbook air(with the macbook air being at $900), with the only reason being the price cut from $1300 from $1100.

                    Most ryzen 7 5800h devices are $400 pricier than the air(starting at $1300).

                    At $900, u find ryzen 5 devices.

                    Once the macbook pros come out, they'll blow out the ryzen 7 5800h, scoring a higher cinebench and geekbench score without turbo boost, while still having longer battery life.

                    If ur not a gamer, there is literally no reason to buy ryzen 7 5800h devices over macbook pros.

                      Why would I buy the legion which costs 70% more than the macbook for only 20% increase in performance(disabling the turbo boost).

                      Even the macbook can run full-blown windows with every app that windows offers.

We don't have to buy a dozen of dongles for an extra price from apple. We can get shit done without that in the Windows world. If not, we can just switch the brand if they decide to force some rubbish anti consumer practic like removing a 3.5mm jack or hdmi and so on... (once more, apple startet this trend..very environmentally friendly if you can throw away your old headphones because of incompatibility or buying an extra dongle with an extra package...and throw away your wireless ones after 3 years because you cant change the batteries). It's all about choice. And we still keep the same OS and environment with another brand. And for those who really are all about wireless: Windows and Android support much superior audio codecs, like aptX (HD) or LDAC and upcoming LHDC. We can use miracast for screen mirroring, no need for proprietary Airplay devices. These are just a few examples why real tech people don't look for apple products, in most cases.

Always a bad thing if your whole environment relies on one single partner/supplier/brand, and you can't change if it's necessary at some point. Then again' that's just for your typical IT environment.

                            If we talk consumer products or one-person businesses (what apple clearly is aimed at), I'd rather get a more powerful consumer notebook with ryzen 5800/5900 u / h(x) and some decent graphics and ports. (Lenovo Yoga or Asus Vivo/Zenbook) And these are also more powerful than your beloved M1 devices, at the same pricepoint or even lower, just get over it.

                              To be more exact is this one LENOVO LEGION 5 PRO 16ACH6H
                              AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB, along with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD disk it outruns everything like nothing for 1800 bucks.
                              Great price for great laptop.
                              There is no comparable apple device at this price point.

For around $ 1100.- you can get a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GTX 1650, Ryzen 5800H. You won't find a Macbook with 16/512 in that price range. 8GB configs will be pathetic in a few years, even on macOS. And you can aswell find a 4800H/4800U for cheaper with similar performance to M1.

                                    The M1X isn't out yet so we'll have to wait and see, if it really scales up that linear with double the performance cores. It literally says in the article that it will come with a price increase, so...

                                    And Intel/AMD will come up with new series also.
