Finally...now if they could add the ability to manually tag photos instead of its "AI" automatically prompting you if a person fits the name in your contacts

hmm, 05 Oct 2021While the news is about mobile app. Then again why would wi... moreBruh google photos isn't a photo editing app, just because it has a couple of filters doesn't mean it's going to replace Photoshop or GIMP or whatever you use, it's primarily meant to be a photo hosting service, and that's exactly what I and many others use it for. I use windows and onedrive isn't good enough for hosting pictures since it isn't only meant for that, google photos' convenient design, face detection, and easy-to-use interface makes it perfect for its purpose, so I'll continue to use it. It seems like you don't even know what google photos is

Like why would you need to c... moreIf the date was set incorrectly on the camera which took the photo, the date of the photo will not be the correct date. So sometimes you'll want to change the date, esp on Google Photos which arranges photos by date as standard.

Why are you mixing the two things? Even if you use Photoshop it doesn't mean you will never use Google Photos.

Like when on windows and macs have all types of photo editing programs from the past when we didnt even had touchscreen phones or cameras on the phones. Who would even come up to get a google photos app for picture editing on these platforms ? I would first think photoshop or paintshop or coral and there are loads of other programs to use

Like why would you need to c... moreI do not think that what he said changes anything, the EXIF data of the photos has always been able to be changed, it has always been possible to present false evidence and also fool people with this, it is just not very cinocidal

I want to edit GPS coordinates when they are not accurate or add them when they are missing. Still not possible for unknown reasons.

As you said, it can be easily misused but the other question apart from stock android / oneplus phones i havent seen anyone using Google Photos.

Well imagine you uploaded some photos from an old camera that had no time/date metadata. or you scanned some photos from a physical photo album. You don't want them to have today's date and time, you want to set the date and time to when you actually took the photo.

Why is this even implemented ? Like why would you need to change date and time on your video or photos ?
The only need for that is to fool people in social media or if your in court and use it as evidence. Just to make false evidence.

Im sure that the original stays in their data base for some time or as long as the tampered stays in your back up. Im sure.
