You didn't get it buddy. MS is living in a parallel universe. That's the reason they brought some relatively new tech far ahead before it needs worldwide.

just stick to 8.1, Windows 10 and all after that is pure garbage

a lot of features from Windows 10 and previos Windows versions are missing in Windows 11, so there is no sense to upgrade.

XperiaFan37, 06 Oct 2021Couldn't install Windows 11 on two of my computers bec... moreYes, as a result of new security requirements. Progress, it's a good thing.

Your old HW is still supported by W10 and W10 will continue to get support for about 5 more years. After which your HW is both very old, but can still use Linux.

Who knows, maybe MS will ease up on the new requirement, just as longs as the user accepts and agrees to some prompt about the dated HW and weakened security etc at own risk.

And once you're past that, DirectStorage has pretty high requirements, meaning a lot of people probably won't meet those requirements anyway. And if you have SATA SSD, you're out of luck anyway. AutoHDR, the issue there is that when I enable HDR on my monitor, image looks like absolute poo on desktop. Granted, I only have HDR 400 monitor, but still, it shouldn't look so terrible like I have brightness turned all the way down and Night Mode nabled. It looks like absolute trash, which means I have HDR turned off anyway.

Windows 11 is a pretty terrible update. They changed and moved around unnecessary things and still haven't fixed fundamental things like freaking language selection for people who want to have Windows in English, but aren't English users. Which means interface in English while localized settings and keyboard in their own language. Windows, since version 8 always creates this absolute mishmash of languages that absolutely infuriates me. And when you do set it accordingly it can't shut up about keyboard languages because it keeps automatically adding them and showing language selection icon. Which you now can't even remove/hide like in Windows 10. And what annoys me even more is the dumb new Start menu. Default centered position is dumb, you can't disable/remove "Recommended" section and worst offender is that icons are always alligned on top. On Win10 I always had them grouped and sorted, now I just can't. Ugh.

Don't understand all that 7/xp was best talk.
Both were game changers at the time but severely limited compared to 10.
XP is a security nightmare compared to 10, while 7 is much, much slower than 10 - especially notable on older machines. Only slower part on ancient machines is startup, which is mitigated by SSD...
