Microsoft updates Windows 10's initial setup to ask users if they want to update to Windows 11

05 October 2021
The out-of-box experience for computers that come with Windows 10 pre-installed will give users the option to jump straight to version 11.

Couldn't install Windows 11 on two of my computers because their processors (i7 quad core) aren't supported. That never happened on any OS I've dealt with since Vista. Very frustrating. It also asked for TPM chips which is also a first.

I tried to install it on my Surface Go (1st generation) that didn't meet the requirements so I created a bootable usb and installed directly. It worked and so far everything is working fine. Smoothness and fluidity are about the same as when it was on Windows 10.

I haven't read through the comments, so I might not be the only one to say this, but..

Is it just me, or do some elements of this OS look like they belong on a Mac? I'm not complaining, it's just an observation

Naveen Chaudhary, 05 Oct 2021I really miss windows 7, it was perfect and did great on SS... moreWin7 was great I still run media center, but we all have to move on at some point :)

I really miss windows 7, it was perfect and did great on SSD. Applications never hanged on win 7, it has tendency to revive from hung state after a few seconds. Windows 10 has good visual appearance, nothing else. I don't expect much from Windows 11 either.

Are they collecting even more data now?

Think before you update to win11, this is totally new thing, I was an insider build user and my experience was terrible, I came back to win10 and it's quite smooth and good.

report said windows 11 set the Edge browser as the default browser, and you can't change it to chrome, or mozila etc.
Also there is no android Playstore in Windows 11, must wait until several future updates to get that.

I have Windows 10 Pro and I think I'm fine with it. Anyway this setup requires you to buy a new pc. So yea useless upgrade unless there are some game changing features.

cyber, 05 Oct 2021they should provide users roll back to windows 7 after who... moreI've never had any issues with my windows 10 Pro. My laptop only had core i5 4th gen which is weak so it had little lag here and there but not as u mentioned.
