So all this money on Tvs that can not transmit!?

AnonD-807890, 06 Oct 2021It's suggested for home use, so I guess it gets a pass... moreWell in home people normally have nice speakers, headphones... sound bars...

For 300$ you get weird thing that wobble on your neck with "not-really-working" Dolby Atmos that is just LITERALLY software spacial-sound enchantment that make most of normal tracks and songs weird with annoying echo, and it really work only with source that is compatible with channels metadata and ONLY with good speakers placement in room(on most of headphones its sound weird and out of place, like you would sit in a empty room)

I would say that its for people that cant wear headphones... but 300$? Even when I had otitis(ear infection) and my ears hurt as hell, I could still use small light earphones as they just sit on them without bothering me.

          Hahahahah

Quick hack to have something better: put your awesome headphones on the neck, turn up volume and Voila: neckband speaker.
Depends on your headphone performance though, mine can get insanely loud, practically full size speaker then.

As weird as it looks, it's actually really neat. It's better than headphones since it's for home use and it probably gives off a better surround sound experience. It's still a very niche product and the way it looks might throw people off, but there was a comment that did give their experience and it seemed pleasant to wear.

Akinaro, 06 Oct 2021How to annoy people around you and look stupid...It's suggested for home use, so I guess it gets a pass. However I'll argue ANC over the ear headphones like the XM4s are better for this use case, plus more useful if you want to use it outside.

It's definitely a very niche product.

LG came up with this design(Tone Studio) a few years back . It didn't sell then, I wonder if this will sell...not appealing to eyes.

meet people with awkward feeling while wearing that speaker.
But those companies must innovate something to gain attention.

Its a sony so ts costly.
On a black friday or cyber monday as they call it you can get much better Sony TV for simmilar price.
No need to spend 360 bucks or euros on something weird like this.

I've tried a neckband speaker before. One of my old roommate's. He used it all the time. I thought this was stupid because it's like a portable wireless speaker but as a neckband. We used to party with that. Then I tried it and was mind-blown. It was a different experience that was surprising and pleasant. Watching movies especially gives you an immersive feeling because of the design and the vibrations. This was 6 years ago. So this new Sony ones with Dolby Atmos will be something else.

How to annoy people around you and look stupid...

Oh yeah, cos folk don't already look stupid with, huge great cans on their ears .!!
And even though I've been using mobile phones since the days of motorola block phones, with the latest craze for wireless buds, it now looks like the world Is populated by nutters walking around talking/shouting to themselves !!!
And even worse, folk using smart watches etc, so you often get the classic secret agent image of the suited, short hair type talking at their wrist,
you know, the ones you don't want sitting on the bus next to you.!!!
These do look handy for quite a few situations where you need/want to be able to still hear around you, like riding a bike, or like me standing on the back of a boat, steering, it's much safer if you can still hear engine, folk shouting etc etc..
But a bit pricey, I'd want to pay half that, minus the atmos..

Well, it ain't stupid if it works
