Find me a sc... moreI use AppleCare+, its ridiculous cheap for iPads and acceptable for iPhones, a broken display is replaced for a small fee. For other brands there are insurances available from several network operators, not as cheap as AppleCare+ but good for the poor since the amount is paid monthly instead of in full, lots of people are already broke after buying a flagship and then 17.99 a month is better.

Apple Card is not interesting, i occasionally use Apple Pay but the connected card is my American Express. Visa and Mastercard are both substandard cards who let you deal with the issuing bank, while Amex users can deal with Amex directly, you are never forwarded to New Dehli, you can talk to a person in your own language and they consider the customer to be right by default until proven wrong. That means the funds of a disputed transaction is returned to you the same day. If Apple want to make a better card they need to start with Amex and see what they can improve and i doubt they find a lot.

      Curved screens are super expensive.
Here in ym country spare parts i mean new original screen cost from 161 euros to 319 depends on vendor plus repair costs.
If you buy flat screen and a flagship grade device your repair cost would be no more than 150.

Find me a screen replacement for a galaxy s8 plus on that website. I don't understand what some people are saying here. iPhones are NOT more expensive than other flagships, if you break your screen on any oled phone it's going to cost a fortune! wish and aliexpress are not to be trusted and also who has the time to wait for days if not weeks to fix their phone. If anything what apple does is ensuring that the phone is repaired properly with genuine parts and from people who know what they are doing.

It doesn't matter what phone you have, repair costs the same and parts are too expensive for it to make sense to go to a random shop to have your phone fixed instead of samsung or apple etc.

99% of people need convenience. People like us on GSMarena are like the 1%. They wouldn't DIY a screen repair especially when the screens are so expensive.

Lets all just live in some kind of subscription based iWorld already.

First their App Store and now this...How much money does Apple want?

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2021I had a galaxy s8 plus once. The screen broke. Guess what i... moreit is not only how much it costs, but how easy and who is alowed to repair the device. the difference is that with all those android phones you can repair them yourself, or at third party repair shop, under warranty, out of warranty. literally every single part.you can buy the replacement parts for much cheaper than the retail price.
apple:hell no. if you broke it it can be repaired only by apple and apple authorised repair centres that are most of the time not alowed to repair on board components but replace the whole logic board even if the part that is defective costs a couple of bucks.
not a single part can be replaced without turning the phone in to a brick.
the most popular apple's genius advice :better buy a new one, the repair is gonna cost you almost the same.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2021I had a galaxy s8 plus once. The screen broke. Guess what i... moreMan here in my tiny country here in Slovakia exist site like heureka.sk where you put to search anything you wish for and it will show you all shops where you can get that thing purchased online and with prices from lowest to highest plus cost of transport from shop to your home which is usualy between 2-5 euros.
If you buy from Wish site ro Alliexpress yu can get even cheaper price on that but when you are not satisfied with product or products or come damaged you have a problem with solving your issue because you buying from abroad.
But maybe in your country you have same or simmilar thing like that heureka,sk site where you can chect stock for all stores in your country availability and pricing.

Guess what it was £220 to have it replaced. Either at samsung or any shop and the part was £180 on ebay. So i don't understand what the difference is between apple and any other other smartphone maker. It's all the same thing. You cannot get cheap parts.

Really the extent this company can go for money, truly amazes me. Such an overwhelming greed for money, is remarkable

This not going to affect me. Coz, I don't even use it and the service is not offering in my country 😎

[deleted post]yeah, is not about the money.
when apple charges 500 for a rear glass replacement
or 700 for a bended pin on the display connector
or when locks all the replaceable parts with software lock and charges triple the preis for a repair compared to the competition.
and now apple gives you a couple of bucks back to show you how much cares for poples hard earned money.
                              good luck with that!

Okay but not every company charges transaction fees for nothing. They just charge a yearly one time charge for the card but if I have to pay extra on top of that for each transaction then I don't mind at all using my VISA debit card issued by the bank which is working just ok so no need for a separate Apple card. And in this region they do not even use cards anymore, it is all completely cashless and is done via smartphones. I can not recall when was the last time I swiped my card in a machine or ATM
