zodiacfml, 07 Oct 2021This device increasingly getting outdated each month. yeah true
The steam deck kinda too end to begin
The hardware in the steam deck is bad even by today's standards and can barely even run aaa games in 2022

value really should of just made a intel pc with a i7-12700K with a built-in rtx 3060ti mini
reason you need your pc too last and be able to run any game

AnonD-940827, 08 Oct 2021Well, if it was a crossover game between consoles and pc, I... moreThat is NORMALLY true, but I think Halo MCC tries to compensate for the fact that people use controllers, so no matter what I'd do while playing on mouse and keyboard, I'd move around dog slow, sower than with a controller even. It also doesn't help that I'm so used to playing Halo games (except CE) with a controller, so playing it with a mouse and keyboard just feels very wrong. Somehow I'm still decent while playing with a controller like I don't die often and get a respectable amount of kills unless I'm having an off day

Controllers might be faster than before, but they still can't match mouse and keyboard.

AnonD-1019096, 07 Oct 2021You could dock this and turn it into a full computer. Why would you do that? I believe that everyone who is interested in this device has a decent PC.

zodiacfml, 07 Oct 2021This device increasingly getting outdated each month. In light of the chip shortages I disagree.

AlienKiss, 07 Oct 2021True, BUT the switch has no OS. The Steam Deck has 2: Windo... moreActually three... the SteamDeck can support AndroidOS too. But probably better off just running Android-Apps within Linux or Windows instead.

I think it will be difficult/foolish to use it for "work" but you are absolutely right, that it has the option for it. But we need to mention this thing has a powerful/full Web Browser.... that itself will open up a lot of possibilities. Yet, for someone like an IT worker in the field who wants something compact, this has a huge disadvantage due to the lack of physical keyboard (that's where the GPD Win Max, fills the niche).

Remember, on top of the downscaled 720p/30fps AAA-Windows games. There are also plenty of Old-Windows Games, Linux Games, Android Games, Web Games and Cloud Gaming. This thing can also do a lot of emulation from Atari, NEC, Sega, SNES, GBA, MS DoS, N64, DS, PS1, Dreamcast, PSP, 3DS, PS2, 2DSXL, GameCube, Wii, and Xbox. And I won't be surprised if it eventually emulates some/many titles from more powerful consoles like the PS Vita, X360, PS3, WiiU, Switch, and (very doubtful) PS4.

The ideal gaming coverage seems to be: iPhone, SteamDeck, PS5... so that you can cover the exclusive titles from iOS, PS5, and PS4-backcompat.

AlienKiss, 07 Oct 2021True, BUT the switch has no OS. The Steam Deck has 2: Windo... moreThat's factually incorrect that Nintendo has no OS. Every device comes with an OS, open-source or closed-source.

This is actually a very interesting device!
Not everyone is uber hyped about playing games all day long. There are other things that can be done on it. You have to agree that there's a big potential having 2 OSs.

You simply don't play fps with a console controller! Good for hack'n'slash and car games.
