YUKI93, 08 Oct 2021The only reason why smartphone brands remove the headphone ... moreExactly!
And when you see how much profits the Apple AirPods did bring to them, it is clear to understand why.
The worst part here is that if the Jack wasn't often used by a lot of users who'd be happy to keep it rather than switching to Bluetooth, Apple wouldn't have removed it as it would have been useless, they only did that to force people to buy stuff.

That's why it is totally crazy to see people preaching the removal of the Jack, as if they can't themselves use the Bluetooth because of it.

Sony did remove the headphone jack before in 2018 and 2019 but decided to bring it back in 2020. They could have continued doing it, but they didn't. Even ASUS and Xiaomi put it back with the ROG Phone 5 and Black Shark 3 respectively.

AnonD-909757, 08 Oct 2021See people? Except the stupid smartphone market, EVERYONE ... moreThe only reason why smartphone brands remove the headphone jack on their phones is that they want to push their TWS product sales, that's all. There is absolutely no need to do that at all since they can keep the flexibility of having both wired and wireless audio in the first place. I know a lot of people out there who still use wired headphones or earphones to this day despite owning wireless Bluetooth audio peripherals.

At least a few companies realised it when they showed that "courage" by removing it and promptly corrected it in the next generation by bringing back the beloved 3.5mm jack!
          Case in point-Xperia 1/5->1II/5II & Asus Zenbook

Typical "I don't want it, so it shouldn't exist, and I'll criticize it for no reasons" smartphone community idiot.

Looks interesting but since new consoles commin g out every other year its not that interested.
In PC most people swap what they can and are free to go with new and fresh upgrade.

                    See people?
Except the stupid smartphone market, EVERYONE still makes products with 3.5mm Jack.
                    *It works well.
*It has an easy native compatibility with basically everything.
*It is cheap and yet high quality.
*Used by professionals and some of the highest quality audio equipment rely on it.
*There are bazillions of existing products that already have it and are far from old.
*It can carry other signals than just audio.
*It is analog, which is better in some cases than numeric, AND can do stuff numeric can't do.
*There are some cheap/unique things that people do rely on, which use it.
*It doesn't require you to use bad or expensive dongles that aren't even cross compatible, despite being a really simple thing.
*It doesn't require you to have yet another device you have to charge.
*You can still use the USB port of your device to charge/transfer, etc while still using it.
*You don't stupidly help to destroy the planet by getting rid of perfectly working equipment just because it is trending to have the new one, despite all the cons it has.
*You don't lock users and equipments out of certain features.
*You respect the choice of users to NOT use Bluetooth if they don't want to.
*It doesn't take any relevant amount of space, and having it STILL let you use your Bluetooth without you having to try to kill it.

But apparently this is too hard to understand for some people that despite all of this, it is still worth keeping, and they shouldn't have their word to say when it comes to OTHER PEOPLE's CHOICES/PREFERENCES.
