Does it actually affect the usefulness and value of the phone? Or is it embarrassing for someone to know one is using a Nokia?. Though it's personal preference, I don't see anything wrong with that. So far as the phone can satisfy my tasks of a phone I don't care. Also companies use branding to differentiate their products from others and hmd has chosen to use this method. If someone doesn't like it he/ she is free to choose other brands

They are doing lower end hardware phones with a price that is middle class phones. You get SD732 phones for that money. Also you maybe even get SD860 Poco X3 Pro. At least for Europe where it cost 230 euro as this G300 probably will cost around 250 euro in Europe.
