Apple cuts iPhone 13 production estimates due to chip shortage

It's expecting to be able to make around 10 million less devices this year.

or maybe the demand is underwhelming...
either this or chip shortage, this is another reason to at least maintain the pricing or raise it...
cos if they manufacture more than the market needs, they will be force to do price cut to shell out the units...
and that is not an apple thing, price cut...

    I'm not an apple ecosystem person so I skipped plonking for another iPhone since this year's models were still very sub-par. No reason why they cannot offer high refresh screens without that (still) ugly foreheads on their base models.

    It might be a good thing if apple doesn't squat on all that fab queues, and that space in TSMC is allocated to more worthwhile silicone than apple's chips bought with raw money (& coercion) power.

      i wrote it before that iPhone 13 is DOA, as same month of its launch people were talking about iPhone 14 and its coming features. cutting their production make sense as they have weak sale.

            Cause low expected sales/pre-order. Most likely waiting for the notchless iphone 14.

              Rather than chip shortage, it is perhaps just a lack of demand for the base iPhones this year, because yet again Apple decided to skip a high refresh rate display on a flagship phone. They introduced a new category of phones tho, called pseudo-flagships, so it is okay innovation is still there
