The phone is quite different from both the OnePlus 9 and the 9R. It should be faster than both and it has a better camera than the 9R

                    Oneplus is An Awful Experience. What would we do with powerful hardware if software isn't there?

                      AksDE1, 13 Oct 2021It will be not less than $600 in global markets .....Even at 600$/€, if this is released globally, it will kill many phones.
                      It might even be killing the 9, 8k video recording and USB 3.1 are niche features.
                      The IMX689 is a bigger sensor with bigger pixels than the IMX766, but the lack of OIS on the 9 could make it take worse pictures and record worse videos than the 9RT.

                        So basically, better display specs than the OnePlus 9, more effective cooling solution, aluminium frame and OIS on the main camera, but inferior camera sensors, no USB 3.1, lower recording resolutions.

                            At least they give consumers more choices, they can pick based on what's more important to them.
                            It's Android, optimizations will never be as good as iOS, too many chipsets and skins from different OEMs, go buy your iPhone already.

                                      I was looking forward to upgrade my 3T to next 9 series. But, two facts got me moving away from oneplus, 1) Despite so many camera module improvements and even with partnership, it's nowhere close to flagship level as they advertise or leak the pictures that look too good. 2) I just saw the oxygen os Beta release, they have killed the oxygen os, its basically color os now. the one big advantage of better than stock but akin to stock experience has been killed by the merger. Carl Pei's exit really killed the enthusiast phone element from oneplus. The color-oxygen os merge is really a bummer, for enthusiasts it specially is.

                                        Good price but why 2MP macro?
                                        If they wanted to put macro then they could've added it to the ultra wide camera or at least equip the phone with 5MP macro.
