Amazfit GTR 3 Pro review

17 October 2021
The watch has more advanced biometric sensors, also Zepp OS can run simple apps. The Pro model comes with a higher price tag, however.

These reviews are of very limited use since GSMArena doesn't test the accuracy of the sensor. There are plenty of reviews elsewhere that show that the GTR sensors and algorithms are not accurate, just like they are not on all Chinese watches. If you want better accuracy, get an Apple Watch or something like a Garmin for better battery life.

I have a first Amazfit BIP with transflective screen and crazy long battery life.
First GTR SS 47mm version peaked my interest with elegance, high resolution AMOLED and relatively good battery life statements. Coming from BIP, I was so disappointed, battery just goes too fast, GPS is worse as well.
Neither has NFC, but I prefer the BIP any day of the week.

if they don't give size options, they have to give a middle sized product. most smart watches have 1.2"(40mm) and 1.4"(44mm) options. amazfit gtr3 lineup is just huge with only 46mm case option! no women can use this size. it is even too big for most men to wear on wrist for 24 hours. besides, for only $20 you can get advanced samsung, garmin, ticwatch, fitbit watches.

i totally agree with the review . if waypoint navigation is introduced this could be an excellent smartwatch .

Inadequate on-board memory is a major issue, why would there only be 2.3GB free space? Emulate Apple for the win. The lack of MAPS is a problem because tracking trails, running, hiking or riding is 'necessary'. The fable of more APP's coming in future is a fantasy; what is on-board the watch when you buy it is what you get; expectations of developments to come never really happens.

most of the world (yes, even in Watches in the USA) use metric ... you know, like 44mm lug to lug ... try it, you may find it makes sense eventually

Battery life downgrade, overpriced, no thanks

                  Zepp! Is way too over-priced

                    $230 for this?
                    no thank you

                      Here's a better conclusion, or TL:DR:

                      Nothing groundbreaking.
Not worth buying or even upgrading from gtr2.
I have gtr 2e and it seems like it's not much worse from upcoming gen.

It would be great if you tried this experiment: once you wake you don't move or move a little for let's say half an hour and only then you actually get out bed. And then check if this time has been logged as sleeping or not.

Vonikhsat S Metra, 17 Oct 2021Is sleep tracking accurate? In your previous reviews you al... moreI haven't gotten false readings so far and it's pretty accurate for fall asleep/wake up times.

Is sleep tracking accurate? In your previous reviews you always mentioned it but not this time :-(

I have Amazefit 5 and it absolutely sucks for that - once you're in a horizontal position you're automatically sleeping no matter what you're actually doing. Today I spent the first hour not leaving the bed and according to Zen I was sleeping. Yeah, right.

Meh...the design seems normal, bland, no appeal...

I cannot believe there are niggling details in the system. It really would be frustrating going back to the menu. Yikes
