You still haven't mentioned any applications where that power is utilized...
effectively confirming all that performance to be on paper.

Your previous iPhones with a12 and a13 chip still can't do basic things because of handicapped ios software. Hardware is only one piece of the puzzle.
Just throwing raw processor power doesn't make experience better when the OS is so bad that it can't put all that raw power to use.

4x3 ratio works better on a tablet. Android uses 16x9 mostly because those are cheaper pannels. I like MIUI since it's basically an iOS skin for Android, but iOS is more stable and reliable. There is no reason to buy anything other than an iPad, yet.

The only part that the pad 5 was better was in the 120hz refresh rate. Cameras on a tablet do not matter. Same IPS LCD display. Chipsets are same speed. Both don't come with LTE or 5G. And the iPad is $329 while the pad 5 is 350 euros. And the iPad delivers the superior software experience.

Tell me, how is the pad 5 superior?

But not as good as the one inside Xiaomi. Gsmarena clearly mentioned it.

IPad 10.2 lags behind in specs on paper and on the real world in those respective departments.

Mi Pad got better battery life with same sized capacity.
Mi Pad 5 pro fast charging solution is indeed faster.
The 13mp camera is not just specs, it blows the mediocre 8mp camera of IPad

The xiaomi pad 5 is literally a elongated phone. Not a single hint of app support for tablets.

And who cares about taking photos with their tablet?

Specially when you will still get optimization updates along with more powerful chipset. lets look at 2018. Tab s4 and ipad pro with A12X. Both launched at nearly same price in my country. Tab S4 not only didn't receive latest software. It also lags a lot. Even phones worth 150USD with mediatek 800 runs faster than that flagship tablet. can you say the same about Ipad pro 2018? Forget 2018.. even the 2021 flagships will struggle against it.

Last, what about updates? Even 7 year old ipad air 2 is receiving major and minor updates.. Yes ipad doesn't have laminated display.. but it has very good LCD. And if you break replacing the digitizer is only 20 dollars. Only problem I have ever faced is reflection, that too out in sun. Otherwise it has excellent viewing angles, contrast, brightness and zero backlight bleed, as expected of apple. Yes ipad has only 2 speakers, but have you ever heard it in person? They are excellent in quality. Last, do you know, Apple still uses Wolfson DACs in their ipads? the headphone jack is powerful enough to drive M50X. You guys only look at specs and judge it all.. but real life experience is totally different when you use something that is perfected to maximum

                                    120hz vs 60hz

YUKI93, 15 Oct 2021Personally, for me, I still find the previous 8th gen iPad ... moreI think it's great we have this Xiaomi alternative.
Samsung has been alone in the high-end Android tablet scene, ever since ASUS left the scene. To be frank, Android Tablets were in their high-point during Android 4.0-4.2, or between the years of 2012-2013.

I blame mostly Google. They pulled support for tablets, because they were focused on the newest trend "phablets". They transformed Android Operating System towards a phone-only position, with tablets as an optional after-thought. And their Nexus Tablets had big compromises in one way or another.

Apple just went from strength to strength when it came to their iPads. First as powerful oversized phones when they created the market, then into it's own thing. iPads can and do run iPhone Apps, however, they actually prioritise iPad Apps. And there's a big difference with some of those Apps, not just in the UI but also due to how the iPadOS responds to it. You get more power to access, it is not the same "race-to-idle" processing you see on the iPhone. Their products deserve our criticism as much as our praise.

Honestly, if someone asks me which tablet to buy, I would usually ask them what they need it for:
                                      A) You want something to do your work on?
Get a Windows 10 tablet, supports proper Browsers and your Programs. One that particularly has a detachable keyboard, or better yet get a laptop with a 360' hinge and touchscreen.
                                      B) Too expensive... So you want something for the children?
Get a No-Name tablet for USD $150 from Walmart (or equivalent in your country).
                                      C) Too flimsy... You want something better quality and support?
The iPad is unmatched when it comes to customer support, hardware support, OS support, third-party software support, and accessory support. It can't do many things, but it does a lot, and the things it can do, it does them brilliantly (except Camera, Phone calls, etc etc).

Personally, for me, I still find the previous 8th gen iPad 10.2 (2020) 128GB with A12 Bionic chipset a worthy buy if you don't care about the new front camera. While the Xiaomi Pad 5 tries to scream good value, I recently discovered secondhand Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, still under warranty, for the same price as the Pad 5 6/256. With a more powerful Snapdragon 865+ chipset and guaranteed three major OS update alongside cellular connectivity support and Samsung DeX capability, it's really hard for me to recommend the Xiaomi.
