I've been using the iPhone 5 for a couple of months and I can see why people still like it. The standard keyboard is awesome and the way iOS interacts with apps is superior to Android. Saying that, in not a big feature nut, and it does precisely the same things that I used on the SGS 2.

Scratches don't bother me as I always buy a case for my phones, and I have 32gb of space which is fine right now.

If I was given the option now of changing I'd go for the Lumia 920. No offence to Android which is still the most functional but a change would be nice.

I've been using iphone 5 for 2 months (unlocked 16gb in canada for $699 plus tax $789 CDN) it IS a solid phone. but i just SOLD IT for the Nexus 4 because:
TOO expensive. it's a good phone but it's not worth double the price of my nexus 4. it's beautiful but TOO FRAGILE. The aluminum was scratched/dented without doing much! Lastly, if i spent close to $800 dollars for a phone let me show it off!!! but no, it just looks 90% like an iphone 4. I have to admit Android is not as solid as IOS but the flexibility is endless! so it's whatever you prefer at the end of the day.

I do agree with you that the Samsung Galaxy S2 does not lag at all in the 1 and a half year that I have been using it. I have 118 applications installed and I really can not understand where people are coming from with this lag issue. I also own the HTC One X and I have never experienced any lag on all three smartphones. Maybe it is because I have worked in IT for the last 14 years so I know what to do almost all of the time. I think if anyone buys the flagship smartphone from any manufacturer he/she is bound to have a problem free experience.

There has been a number of applications certified by Apple with underlining malware. Although jailbroken iPhones are far more prone to getting then the locked down IOS, it is still not invulnerable. Ignorance is bliss.
