It would be horrible to have useful information in your field of vision so you don't have to look away from the real environment.

They're an interesting concept but due to the fact that the video only showed CGI renditions of what the glasses could do and never actually a working set of classes I'm not quite sure what everybody's worked up about. Has there been a full release allowing people to actually test in utilize the capabilities they're advertising? I say this because there's been hundreds of videos and dozens of companies claiming to be able to do the same thing over the last 10 years and not delivering.

If you own a mobile phone, we already know who and where you are. Cell providers triangulate signals. The very act of you using this website to post a comment reveals your location and a host of other info about you. Someone snapping a picture of you in public is the least of your worries.

Anonymous, 15 Oct 2021Privacy has gone for good a while ago.1: Create an account and post NOT as an anonymous, THEN write that again.

3: It is only endangered by idiots saying it is gone, and it CAN STILL BE SAVED.

Technically, 15 Oct 2021You don't have privacy in public. That should be obvio... moreIn France, it is illegal to take and publicly share a picture of someone in the street without consent, which is a great thing.
                            https://www.gouvernement.fr/guide-victimes/en-proteger-son-droit-a-l-image
It protects both your image (your image right) and your privacy at the same time.

You only need to misbehave or to even do something that simply looks like it, just ONCE, and you can get your life ruined.
Now here we are talking about glasses that are directly links to big corporations (many of which have already proven to be shady and non-trustable when it comes to privacy and user data) and that aren't obviously visible at first glance.

If one day you end-up in a shitty situation and have to become a whistleblower, either because you are a good person and don't want bad things to happen to others, or simply because you literally have no other choices to get out of a really bad situation, which is a cruel reality for many Amazon employees for example, you'll quickly realize how valuable privacy is, INCLUDING not being constantly filmed by hidden devices that everyone wave around all day long.
And anyone, friend or not, can come to your house wearing those, you, not realizing those stupid glasses have a camera and your friend/visitor/friend's friend etc not thinking about it, not considering it should be said or not caring about privacy, and you can get tons of potential craps into your life.
From leaking your belonging to thiefs, helping identity thiefs ruining your life to in case of Uighurs and similar issues literally put a life in danger.

And there are tons of doors left that you REALLY DON'T WANT privacy intrusion to go through, a lot of things we take for granted that one day you'll be angry a young will tell you about how there is "no privacy in X or Y context" despite this sounding insane even for someone who has only known the lack of it.
Think neural interfaces, which WILL come soon and might become MANDATORY for many things.
Do you really want to help a future where your own thoughts aren't private anymore become a thing?

Now the government is filming you even more but the recording is only serving them, not you. I don't see why little people like us couldn't film as well, at least proving an accident to insurance.
