r31ya, 26 Oct 2021In my mind, Xperia line should've been Xperia L mk.... moreCome to think about it, that is actually a good point. The current Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 model are the same between the two with the only difference coming from the screen. I see no problem for Sony to sell the Xperia 5 for around $700 or $800 while also selling the Xperia 1 for around $1000. Let the Pro be the most expensive model with the most outrageous specs of all.

Krisbenea, 26 Oct 2021They use same sensor as rx100 vii in this pro i, cmiiwSame sensor but body size and lens limitation should have decent impact to the image quality or versatility.

again, good shit but its way too pricey. it should be around $1200 to be competitive with other flagship.
and holy shit, since when RX100 series manage to crept in price to all the way $1200

If its at $800~$1200 and capable enough to be somewhat close to RX100 in image quality with mild cut due to size and lens limitation, it will be decent camera phone for enthusiast during time they doesn't want to always lug around their dslr.

Me and my late father love to carry my Panasonic DMC/ZS series as it have decent image, manual control, and the biggest thing being, to be actually pocketable in your jacket pocket. so decent image during light travel without lugging around designated dslr bag.

I don't understand Sony's stupid strategy of launching a phone, announcing it to sell it 5 months later, they like to throw money away, why or what? Who is going to buy a phone on request so that it arrives 3 almost 3 months later? in 3 months there are better options than this

Problem being its kinda middling among flagship in a normie hand.
Availability time gap between announcement and buying time is way too far, by the time the phone in the market, we already talk about the next flagship qualcomm SoC.
and the somewhat pricey price didn't help either.

IMO Sony should make snap on lenses of different focal lengths for this phone it can easily be an easy to carry professional camera its picture quality is already pretty good from hands-on

IMO Sony should make lenses of different focal lengths for this phone which can easily attach to the main camera (some better solution than clip on) and it can be easy to carry professional camera of sorts pics from GSMArena hands on are already great

In my mind, Xperia line should've been

Xperia L mk.x the entry level at $250 ( upper SD6xx or the like, triple cam, stereo speaker, and bright lcd should be ok)
Xperia 10 mk.X the top mid ranger (SD7xx or the like, triple or quad cam setup, either high res LCD or oled screen, 3.5mm jack, and micro sd) at $450
Xperia 5 mk.X the budget flagship (top end chipset, 90~120hz oled screen, "competitive" camera set) at $800
Xperia 1 mk.1 should be the balls to the walls spec flagship, (1 inch sensor, variable zoom, 5 axis OIS, 4k 120hz screen, highspeed micro SD slot, 3,5mm jack with independent DAC/AMP, hdmi port) at $1200.

But Sony still put their Sony tax on their phone which somehow manage to make this thing at $1800 which despite everything, a tough sell.
