Android lovers, if you really love android you should come altogether in a choir singing 'Thank you Nokia'.
    Why so?
If Nokia went android, and so are Samsung, Motorola, Sony, Htc, Lg, Asus, Huawei, etc, etc, then Android would monopolize the world. Then you would pay 100 bucks for a device and 900 for the software inside. Believe me or not, Android would not be so 'friendly' if it wasn't risked by competitors. This 'friendliness' is just a strategy to gain territory, you may see later what'll happen if Nokia (and other choices) gets out of their way (pray God not). Noone gives things for free, that 'Android freedom' is temporary. You'll face on a side the greedy iOS and on the other the Big Voracious Hungrydroid.
I'm saying it from a business point of view, not as a fan, try to get the point.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2012Nokia + Android = Win.What he said is true. If Nokia made Android phones, they will be smoking android like Samsung is doing right now. Not even close. Nokia have so many loyal customers.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2012It's sad to see a giant falling down just because some dumb... moreI'm afraid it was CEO's goal from the very start. Or the one who put that CEO in charge and hasn't removed him yet, even though company had one fail after another for several years now. Its easy to see Nokia is no longer the same good old company and Windows Phone just doesn't make things better. Switch to Android before its too late, switch to ANYTHING while there's something left of value.
Oh, wait, it is too late to switch primary OS, they fired software developers first thing when current CEO came.

"We had a comprehensive sales process with both Finnish and foreign investors and we are very pleased with this outcome. As we have said before, owning real estate is not part of Nokia's core business and when good opportunities arise we are willing to exit these types of non-core assets. We are naturally continuing to operate in our head office building on a long-term basis."

This line tells everything. No question about the move they made. Nokia is regaining focus on what they do best.

Nokia should fire their CEO Stephen Elop. Then they might have a chance at being around in 2014. He has single-handedly destroyed and mobile phone empire with his Microsoft or nothing mentality.

NO.........grrrrrrr

You already know,Jolla took the control over meego Os but such a small company has nothing to do with it other than giving some try ,.unluckly it will remain as 3rd rated OS
My advice is dont waste your time by dreaming something amazing from jolla or meego.

even the dumbest ceo would have read the signs. nokia picked windows with out exclusive rights.nokia refused to use android.9 out of evevry 10 smart phones sold in china is android based.
the way forward for nokia is to deploy phones running android, meego and wm. these phones should be quad core,2g ram with big screens. with this nokia would shoot to no.1 but if not nokia would be sold to samsung for less than 10billion euros in 3years.

I used Nokia's for years from 2003 through to about 2008... The 6120 was an awesome phone at the time as was the n82... However Nokia refused to move with the times when touch screens came in. As such I went to apple for a couple of years and have now been with Samsung for a couple. I might go back to Nokia one day but at the moment there is nothing tempting me.

Personally I hope Nokia and wp8 succeed to offer competition to apple and android but at this stage I'm not certain they will.

920 is so outdated: heavy like a brick and very think, last year CPU Dual core and laggy GPU 220, Weak speaker "Check the review" and IPhone 5 camera beat it "Check the blog", limited internal storage not even 64GB and short battery life + WP is a battery hog and not replaceable.
