Wait up, why compare a 900$ to a 1250$ phone? that's 350$ difference that one should CLEARLY feel. 350$ may not be "much" but for 350$ yo uget a is a oneplus nord 2 or a mi 11 lite so it's quite a difference to be expected up there.

So basically all this teaches us is that Flagship devices are easily fast enough, Galaxy S-Series, Pixel's, iPhones, Xperia 1, etc etc

It's not only video rendering, it's all heavy tasks where the real difference shows. Opening light apps won't make any real difference, it can go either way because of faster animation or just differenty designed app. But when you do heavy tasks you see the difference.
End of the day this was very good results from pixel, it might be fastest Android phone in the market

I've followed David Rahimi since he did that Nexus history video up to Nexus 5 back in 2013. I enjoy his videos. But c'mon, his videos aren't practical.
Nobody does that to their phones. Even his drop tests are unrealistic. He just makes videos for something to do and generate AdSense. Just entertainment and then have people argue in the comment section.

The base of the tensor are some Exynos modules, and some custom modules. First Apple SoC also was made by Samsung and was a great one.
Google will improve over generation, for sure, but for now the results and most important, daily usage, are really great.
For now, the most disappointing thing from Tensor it's the camera process and the oversaturated HDR and clarity pictures. The phone, it's really fast.

It was posted a couple days ago and most of uz was already expecting Pixel 6 Pro to lose. I've never seen a Pixel ever win PhoneBuff's speed test. Even my Pixel 3 lost pretty handily to the iPhone XS three years ago. Apple can still win easily even with half the RAM.
We do need Pixel 6 to succeed so we can have $600 flagships again. But it's highly doubtful. Pixels never sell well. It's only catered to enthusiasts and phone nerds like us who watches techtubers and visits sites like this.

In retrospect... For those overcompensating, there is nothing like 1st Gen for the Google Chip. It makes no sense as an excuse in this case because this very Google Chip is literally a Rebranded Exynos Chip. Exynos has always been behind Apple and SD chips.
Google needed something to brag about and something out fast. Samsung is always the way to go when it comes to fast production. Same way they ruined SD888.
The so-called Google chip is behind, let's leave it at that. Maybe they could do some R&D of their own by next year.

App loading test are ultimately pointless and downright stupid.
CPU is faster, GPU is faster on iPhone, but unless you are fanboy, or you play benchmarks all day, you won't notice any difference even compared to something like Snapdragon 765.
Software, battery life, camera performance is much more important than launching facebook in 1sec compared to 1,01sec.

Video rendering: 7 seconds on iPhone 16 on the Pixel. Without it it would have won.
