On the other hand, apple's products already have enough distinction by themselves. Not via the latest gimmicks, but via brand popularity and software The only special editions they make are the product red ones, and those are donations to charity.

These are officially sold by the company unlike the thrid party caviar branded iPhones (which don't count because company isn't officially selling them).

    The fact that these big car companies have chosen to partner with Chinese brands tells you the level of quality available on android.

        13 Pro Max 1TB says hello ;) above 1500$ market is also already owned by that phone, it’s in huge demand, if you want one now you need to wait month.

        Wrong again, 33% of iPhone sales comes from America, Apple is strong around the world, that’s why their sales are so high.

        I live in EU and when those Chinese companies came here people said exact same thing, reality they had no noticable effect to iPhone sales, in other hand Samsung was and is in big trouble. I would expect that exact thing to happen, it would mean huge problems for Samsung just like those Chinese companies currently do around the world. If you didn’t read, Samsung last Q sold under 70 million phones. I don’t know when last time Samsung sales been under 70 million and their S21 series been biggest flop in galaxy s series history by selling only 13.5 million units. Those Chinese companies are hitting Samsung from every angle while iPhone sales are around record high.

              When a person on a budget needs a phone, they choose the one with the lowest price without having massive quality issues. Like phones around the $200 range.

              That's where samsung is getting their sales from.

And also their phones are actually pretty good, especially Oppo's Reno series devices which are priced similar to higher end Galaxy A series and Xiaomi T series. I used a Vivo for a short while and they have some cool unique software features like easily changing the animation of swiping between home screens. Obviously if you buy a cheap Vivo or OPPO you will get cheap experience but if you try their medium or flagship phones you will see they are actually good.

                          I'm pretty sure most of us saw this coming but I still don't get why people buy Oppo and Vivo. Compared to a similarly priced Samsung,iPhone and Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo phones are inferior and of substandard quality.

                              Apple is the best no doubt, I don't know why people don't understand this obvious fact. Here are the reasons:

                              1) iPhones are more customizable. You can customize iPhone 13 Pro to be medium 6.1" or large 6.7" size, and regular iPhone 13 to be medium 6.1" or mini size 5.4", and there are much more color options! And does Android have 1 TB phone? I guess not. 1 TB>512 GB it's just basic math. Also iPhone has MagSafe so even the charging is customizable!

                              2) iPhones have more variety. The iPhone 13 Pro's have 120 Hz while the regular 13 and 13 mini have 60 Hz so you can choose if you want 120 Hz or 60 Hz while still having flagship A15 Bionic, Android doesn't even have a flagship 60 Hz phone anymore. Moreover, there is iPhone SE (2020) if you want a classic premium design with physical front facing fingerprint sensor and a small battery which is more safe. No Android phones have such classic designs anymore with physical fingerprint scanner in the front, and all of them have big batteries so they are forcing you to have better battery life which is horrible.

                              3) iPhones have better design. All newer iPhones have a fresh modern notch design which is way better than ugly Androids that just have a outdated punch hole design. In fact, now even MacBooks have that same modern notch design, just brilliantly designed by Apple in California!

                              And there are many more reasons but I think this is enough for now.

                                  I really doubt that, they would just eat each other Android shares, just like everywhere else. I live in EU and we have all the Android phone options and more coming all the time, but it doesn’t affect Apple market share any noticable way, it affects Samsung share which is getting smaller and smaller, i think same would happen in US.

                                    As to after market value it mostly depends on the OEM, a premium Samsung device will likely hold its value just a much as a premium Apple device. Its subject to demand and public image of the brand.

                                    Note that not everyone wants to be trapped in Apple's ecosystem and personally Apple haven't really done much innovation since Jobs passed.

                                    The same goes with Android, although many manufacturers will be innovative with creative ideas, cameras, screens, radical designs etc, some people just prefer iOS.

                                      Apple makes good phones that retain their value due to an aspirational appeal. They also back with quality and long software support. Even Android OEMs make great phones some which may be aspirational for some. At the end it is an individual choice. I don’t get why people fight over something as silly as an OS or phone. To each his own . Have personally had best of android and iPhones. I just buy what I like.
