Nick Tegrataker, 31 Oct 2021And if this had been released by any of those Chinese compa... moreYou want them to:

      - drop all tools to preserve battery and offer 200W instead, no matter how bad for battery it can be
      - use useless quadbayer, despite awful rolling shutter and bad full resolution mode full of artifacts
      - drop earphone jack
      - drop the sd slot
      - use square icons to remind of iOS, like chinese UIs
      - to have curved screen with ugly hole
      - use auto HDR despite the downsides of the tech
      - drop 4K and use QHD
      - use many chinese components to drop price , despite lower quality

All this to later complain all phones are same nowadays .....

Yeah, let's ask the majority-Redmi/Realme-owning GSMArena community if they think that professional phones over 1,000euros have a market for going for them... lmao

Nick Tegrataker, 31 Oct 2021..said no one ever. How sad.Xiaomi users want all other brands except apple out of mobile business.

Maybe there is a market for high end prosumer camera phones, previously, when Apple dominated the portable music device a decade ago, hi-fi man pioneered high end audiophile grade players but it had issues, then i-river became astell and kern and sony realised there was a niche market for high end audiophile grade music players which were significantly better than iPods, thus this market was born.

Maybe Sony has unlocked a niche market and others could follow, time will tell.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2021"No, none needs this" = Votes from xiaomi users. Realme users too

Xiaomi atleast tried to make a gud camera phone but realme Na we don't do that here.

for me its lack of two things... first its very small display, it should at least used 7inch display for 21:9 aspect ratio, two its should use bigger battery...

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2021"No, none needs this" = Votes from xiaomi users. So true

Nice phone. But omitting standard features like wireless charging and Face Unlock is not helpful. Plus, the price is too high for a phone that will only get at most three years of Android OS Upgrades(from its release date).

One thing is clear: large cameras are being obliterated, and Sony is taking its chance to present something that can really replace them. I'm sure other manufacturers soon realize this fact and present their professional smartphones. Samsung once did this with a few models, but the timing and the available hardware power of phones were just not right/enough. But Sony seems serious this time.

                        i think so...
                        or at least "prosumer"...
there are "travel vloggers" who might appreciate the portability of this device...
it will not replace even the prosumer dedicated devices for sure, but it now depends on the user's priority...
a good addition here is the videography pro app which is easier to use than the cinema pro...
and one more thing, you can directly edit video clips and upload it right there and then...
or even have a youtube live broadcast...
i would love to have the vlogging package...

AverageIndianUser, 31 Oct 2021It least it has a market bigger than pixel 6 Pro 😂Both of these phones are not going to be ever available in your market so no need to worry about it

There is after all a potential for these phones. The convenience of having capable cameras, in a portable form can be preferred highly by certain photography enthusiasts, who perhaps do not carry all of their equipments at all times or perhaps just need a camera to quickly capture an image. Portability is the key thing there. One can not just stash a DSLR into their pocket, but they still would like to have something professional grade to click pictures

STT, 31 Oct 2021The image quality is not even close to professional gear - so No.Exactly. It always says this phone is meant for "self-employed" photographers or vloggers; so, no professional value is added. Even with this display one may not get any professional job done, something like a professional editing.

I would wholeheartedly agree with you, if Sony could release the sales number for this particular product next year.

Professional phone? Apple or Samsung or the like has already offered it. Sorry Sony, you are too late, offering some nice features, but at an exorbitant price. FAIL.

No special "professional value" in this phone, NONE.
