And Galaxy Fold 1 was just over $2200 here. So still not as much as $2800 for second gen X2. Second Fold was $2000 here. Still lower than X2. Stop complaining about Fold cameras, the price is $1800 for Fold 3

- samsung has in-house components, huawei had kirin only .
First generation was also above $2000.
If Fold 3 had S21 Ultra cam system, it would cost more. Not just $1800.
Giving the S20 FE cam system was a choice to make it cheaper.

I would be very surprised if it costs more than $4.
Another 12MP 1/2.6" dual pixel from 2020 like one inside Find X2 Pro obviously costs more.
And in the end, performance difference is not even 2% when you check raw files.
This is why google uses imx363 for 3 years. Instead of getting new one like samsung did ( from s7 to s10) and Apple (from Xs to 12 pro).

Firstly, why out of all the smartphones out there, with lot more capable cameras would someone consider the Fold 3 as a phone for photography ? The Galaxy Fold was not created to excel at photography, it's a folding smartphone, and that is the prime focus there not the cameras
Second, folding phones are a new technology so it will cost lot of money obviously. That happens with every new innovations, so calling it overpriced trash only proves you wrong. And since you are heavily biased towards Apple, then why even consider an Android phone ?
If everything is trash and garbage to you, then why don't you go and make your own cutting edge phone in your kitchen, all with the latest tech and no creases or visible cameras

Why keeping an old sensor since like...forever? Isn't there any new good sensors? Ah maybe because they have the software already optimized for this sensor for years and don't want to just throw that work in the trash can...
But cmon, things evolve. This deserves a new sensor, new optimized software etc

Fold 3's camera is garbage and so will Pixel Fold's camera be albeit a little less trashy than the Fold 3.
My advice is to wait a couple of years before investing in a foldable. They are heavily overpriced trash at this point.
Maybe in 2025 it will be feasible or at least when Apple has released their foldable which will have no crease or garbage cameras or experimental garbage under display cameras like Fold 3.
