Jojo, 09 Nov 2021Cry harder. Under screen camera are the future. Wait until ... moreCry harder, the day UDC will clearly prove they can't improve past a certain point while still giving a not so good at best to awful result (it has been YEARS and so far only bad results are showing, even rocket science progress faster than this) and other tech who can do better are available, exist or are possible, but no one will use them because those like you were obsessed with the UDC made them a norm that will be too hard to remove, AND when lack of privacy will show its true face to ignorant, and bite hard, you'll be the first to cry and want it to be gone.

The ONLY positive point with UDC is that if there is only this available, I can still buy a used phone with one (display quality over camera quality type), tear it, remove this gimmick, and put it back and enjoy a phone with a spymera.

But I guess, people like you can't understand that other people have different tastes and that not only there are no reasons that we don't get diversity (meaning a bit of everything, INCLUDING the underdisplay camera), but that it actually is the norm in literally all markets ever.
If you think fighting against people's tastes for absolutely no reasons make you a better person than me who actually try to fight for EVERYBODY's tastes, then go on.

Like the Android "permissions" who often got bypassed, same for the "camera use alert".

And they can say whatever they want about how it works and still have backdoors.

Popup camera should come back. Samsung ud camera with fold is clearly visible in white background. Xiaomi fold ud camera is not visible that much even in white background, but compromises in selfie quality. Popup camera is the best solution that offers uninterrupted screen as well as high selfie quality

Anonymous, 06 Nov 2021nice to have that illusion tho A false sense of privacy is WAY WORSE than no privacy at all, which is why the underdisplay camera horror is a big threat, you forget about the cam and become a little too confident in front of your phone.

Any real privacy-oriented thing is a step in the right direction, an anti-privacy thing is a step in the wrong direction, and any illusion of privacy is 10 steps in the wrong one.

Their trick show where a 3 letter agency couldn't access a phone is just a public stunt, so people think their privacy is kept safe with Apple, making people putting privacy-sensitive data on their phone which those agencies love, and giving a big free ad for Apple, for them it is a win-win, lie based situation.

Of course, they can and in fact do access data on your phone.
The "anti pedophilia picture" cloud scan thingy is already a big enough red flag.

If only it could simply have no front camera at all and start this trend.
But since it won't happen, and even without that awful underperformingdisplay spymera gimmick, Realme are super fan of useless 2Mp sensors, this phone has no 3.5mm Jack and it has the cursed edge display, so, yeah...

It had better privacy, better screen from the get-go, since u didn't need a different type of low-res screen for the camera part and for those who really cared about the selfies, it allowed much better camera quality.
