Can someone show me the downside of original box?

ElioX, 12 Nov 2021I agree with it. I explained it in my previous post here... moreIf you think that there are too many chargers in your house, then great. You can just sell them if you wanted to. But I believe that companies are in fact removing chargers out of greed, and they are saying it's because we "don't need them" and "can buy them ourselves", but instead are just lining up more cash. It's ok if you don't believe me.

RandyRiffin, 19 Nov 2021That logic doesn't work, and it is all explained in th... moreThat logic holds up ONLY if ALL people who buy phones ALSO buy chargers. As he said himself in the video, chargers don't last forever. This is point 1. Not everybody WANTS/NEEDS the charger. That is point 2. Smartphone delivery does NOT have to be with charger included (e.g. I have bought a Lenovo Chromebook duet, Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet, Amazon Kindle Ebook, and much more that came without a charger - nobody could say to them that they need to provide it --- they don't have to). The problem is that before this date, people who bought phones might have no charger in the home - but we are at the age where every person >20 age has had at least 1-2 smartphone(s) in his/her life. But now many people have chargers.
And I seriously think that the sales of chargers are at least 25% of the sale of smartphones because not everybody needs them. And THIS is how extra CHARGERS but not the "boxes they come in" or the "packaging materials" are saved from wastes. Electronic waste is worse than plastic. The reason big offices dont say this is because if they say "we dont include it because you dont need it" it would enrage people who would say "you cannot say what I need".

I defend the same point in including the $hitty silicone case as well. It is also redundant and should not be in a phone box. No other electronic device is coming with such a case. But since we are used to seeing it in phone boxes, we think it has to. The reason it comes with cheap phones is because nobody will make any case for cheap phones. Same for chinese phones. Nobody cares about chinese phones so no one would make a case to sell for them. And when a user who has this cheap/chinese phone would need a charger, he/she would not find it. And that is the reason they include them inside.

The explanation of point 2 is, e.g. I have 4 chargers at home. I had a Samsung charger with a Samsung galaxy note 3 that stopped working after a year, so I bought one. Then I bought one more charger for my workplace (I had one with two cables but that was too big). Another charger (100W GaN) was bought with the IndieGoGo campaign called Elecjet Apollo Max - that also has 2 type c entry points with one more type c and usb3.0 in the power bank. I also had one more fast charger with 2 cable entries that I bought from Amazon because I had only one empty socket at my previous work but 2 smart devices... And I am not the only one like this. There are lots of people who have their chargers at home - and DO NOT NEED high-speed charging. I use the slowest charger at home to charge device at night. And the fastest one (elecjet) is always with me in case I need a fast charge. That charger can give up to 100W charge power which can also charge my go-to laptop. So I dont need an extra charger. I have all the chargers and cables I need around me.

About the "amazon packaging and the petrol that the van used to deliver the package" point in the video - I have worked in amazon for 3 months in Germany. Their vans routes are constructed so that it gives you at least 15-20 delivery per route. The packaging is the cheapest available - yes. But my concern is not the packaging material - it is the wasted charger. The electronic waste.

The BEST way out of this - is to get OPTIONAL PACKAGES. When you buy an electronic device - you get bare minimum price + optional charger for extra money + optional case for extra money. If anybody would say "NO, the charger/case should be free inside the box", he/she just wants to get more stuff for free---which is another topic and does not even require any discussion.

You just need to tell him that GSMArena reviewers test a phone deeply, give accurate and fair verdicts, they may play with them, but people are NOT wasting their time reading these reviews as they are very helpful in buying decision of a phone (give an in-depth analysis of competitors and list pros and cons, then a weighted star rating).

Anonymous, 12 Nov 2021pixel phones seem to be not chasing numbers, benchmarks, et... moreThis is what just doesn't get in my head. People say if Pixel 6 doesn't have great performance, they'll say it's not meant to have. Just like those sheeps, if iPhone doesn't have fast charging... oh well, I don't need it. If you're just looking for a phone that does basic things, then idk a Pixel 5 or Nokia will do, my point being that for this price, Pixel 6 could have been better.
Also, aesthetic wise the Pixel 6 is very polarising, with it's huge camera bump and thick, boxy bezels. I prefer the S21 more, with more curved, thin bezels and less striking camera.

Haplo, 12 Nov 2021I'd not say the cameras on Pixel 6 and vanilla S21 are... moreAlso Idk if Pixel 6 has better video than S21 or not.

ElioX, 12 Nov 2021I agree with it. I explained it in my previous post here... moreThat logic doesn't work, and it is all explained in this video: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=mrwhosetheboss+charger&docid=607992065914269384&mid=CECA08DA5DA3D065AC97CECA08DA5DA3D065AC97&view=detail&FORM=VIRE
If the charger is sold separately, then you actually need MORE packaging than if it was just included in the box, because think about it -> you need packaging around the phone, then more around the charger. This is all explained in the video. So, all of a sudden the act of not including chargers is actually worse for the environment.
Also, having a charger in the box doesn't cost a lot, even €200 phones have them. I guess you can do your cost savings, while I'm just lazy and just want them in the box :>

Haplo, 12 Nov 2021I'd not say the cameras on Pixel 6 and vanilla S21 are... moreMy mistake. Really needed to wait for GSMArena Pixel 6 review to see just how great the cameras are. But S21 still has great cameras.

Wkk, 11 Nov 2021He arent joking...there's no need to root those days, ... moreI have been in android modding for a lot of time. I left after magisk got famous. I had several magisk mods for easing myself and also some tasker apps that require root access that make my life quite easy. And I like to play with such stuff once in a while and want to revert back in case I mess up something or if I get bored or if I get some update that will require me to get rid of it.
With Samsung's knox you have no chance to get back to rootless mode. Once you root, the phone is done forever. There is no way to trigger knox from 0x1 to 0x0. So, if you are using android as an Apple device, you will be fine with Samsung phones. If you are into some moderate to moderate-high modding - you need to get away from Samsung.

RandyRiffin, 12 Nov 2021Have you heard of the reasoning? It can't be because t... moreI agree with it.

I explained it in my previous post here. The logic is to save money and not waste materials.
If the charger in the box will add an extra 30euro to the price, I would rather NOT have it in the box and buy a 3rd party one for 20euros and have a 10 euros benefit.
If the sloppy silicon case that is put in every Chinese phone brand costs 5 euros, I know that I would never put it on phone, so I would also avoid it to save me extra 5 euros.
This all in all adds up pixel 6 like device being sold for 599$ (or 649euros). I am fine with it. I would rather buy my own screen protector (I always use a matte one because I use it outside a lot and I hate having reflections on my screen... also it is healthier to the eye than a reflective screen ;) you can check it out in web) and my own phone case (I love the 3a XL fabric case, but unfortunately I didn't like what google has done with cases this year - but I loved the feeling on the Bellroy leather cases).

So, summing up - I personally am feeling better that I don't get extra stuff in box so that I will throw away less stuff and I don't overpay for stuff I will not use
                            (^^)

In Samsung, once your root, you trigger knox 0x1 (before, it is 0x0). I know because I have been developing ROMs and mods for Samsung galaxy note 3 from 2014-2018. That was a perfect device, but since then I promised NO MORE SAMSUNG PHONES.

In fact, personally I'd not trade the Pixel 6 camera for S21 Ultra camera set - which is basically the decision I faced.
I'd say Pixel 6 trades blows with S21 Ultra in camera deparment (no zoom, weaker ultrawide and selfies - BUT better human/kid shots, indoor + nighttime photography and video). But with vanilla S21 there is no contest IMO.

Looking forward to the battery endurance rating. I'd be surprised if this has better performance than the Pro.

pixel phones seem to be not chasing numbers, benchmarks, etc... which means "sweet spot" for those who wants a phone that just does things...
how many users can really maximize the raw performance except on benchmark apps?
though, just hoping for performance consistency...
with the recent pixel phones, i prefer the pixel 6 (nonpro)...
aestheticwise, the back header is smaller, no curve display, (though a punched hole is out of my preference)...
1080p though is quite low on my preference for such size... if it is the usual arrangement in ips display, im ok with it...
