These use a lot of gold and expensive stones and they keep making them cause there are buyers for them and also these dont lose in value as the amount of gold and stones they have that go up in price when time goes on and also as these are collection items then that adds also value to them. Bill gates also was poor when started. Musk was also poor and now is like nr1 in the world.
I just hope Apple understand the message that they should go with the type-c like EU is demanding them to go with it while they find dumb reasons to stick with there lightning port.
So basically 90% of the people in here are dumb and cant understand anything. Dont understand the meaning of collection item and dont understand that you dont use collection items. Like you dont take out of the box action figures cause that will reduce there value in the future.
It's like you people in here have never collected anything. Take for example where some people collect Post Marks. These little peace of paper can even cost in absurd 7-8 digits numbers in dollars/Euro

skimminstones, 12 Nov 2021my god there are some idiots out thereAmerica is full of them and in few decades if it still works it probably cost a million easy for some collector for collection item. Few years ago there was first Mac for sale and they wanted over 1 million for it. Even tough you cant do much with it and it look like what you would find in a 40 years old TV with some keyboard buttons. Needed basically to hook it behind a TV and it pretty much didnt have much of a software too. Never mind that when you have so much money and have everything and you basically have lost any understanding to value of money or even worse born in a family that is billionaires so you never learn the value of money

Or, could be a rocket scientist with degrees coming out the wazoo. Still doesn't alter the fact that this was purchased purely to be able to boast about it. Can't use it as a daily driver, cannot reset it. Basically can't modify the hardware in any way. It's essentially an ornament. Something to boast out. A bit of compensation for inadequacies in other areas perhaps. Something to tell the ladies. This isn't astonishing innovation. It's a very skillful technological feat but ultimately useless. I'm sure someone out there can reverse engineer an android phone and install a lightning port. But still, equally useless. As useless as tits on a bull.

Wow a lot of dumb people thinking the buyer is "dumb" because he/she paid $86k for this iPhone and thinking he/she purchased it to use as a daily driver expecting software updates, etc. lmao. Quite the opposite, the buyer is not dumb and this iPhone is not different than an NFT or any other collectible. The buyer is probably extremely smart in a way that he/she is in a super high pay profession where experts in that field are super scarce or was smart enough to be successful through creating his/her own businesses and managing investments wisely. Once your income is millions per year, it's not weird to purchase $100k+ collectibles or paying hundreds of thousand of dollars for a couple of days of luxury vacation. And some people think wealthy people lives in a bubble and don't understand the life of poor people and again is quite the opposite, some wealthy people used to be poor during childhoold and younger years and perfectly understands how it is, while plenty of poor people lives in a bubble and don't understand the sums of money being moved by the top 1% (or even top 10%). and often saying "WOW WHO WOULD PAY THIS FOR THAT", well there's someone out there that can afford it and it's nothing for him/her.

iPhone 14 series will have usb C, this is just "hype", even iPhone 13 Pro Max with giantic notch does not worth more than 600$, but then again, iPhone users pays for phones 2 years, so its ok i guess (:

That's a pretty expensive USB-C port. I can see Apple cashing in on this, as this could potentially become the standard price for future iPhones, if Apple were to ditch the lightning port for the better USB standard...
