Firstly, 400 slots in total is an utter joke, but not in a good way. Since this private beta proceeds the public Beta, poor old OnePlus 8 users will no doubt wait at least 6 months before Android 12 ships.

In fact, shall we make a little bet ... they probably won't have a production version of A12 before Android 13 ships on a Googlephone.

OnePlus is simply not the company they used to be. The didn't just settle, they fell asleep.

Calm down guys!! this will take like 6 months to happen ,BBK is really slow.

Anonymous, 13 Nov 2021Is the OnePlus 8 still a good phone for 2022 ?Oneplus 8 is okay. Still feels zippy and fast enough, but the cams are left behind by even 300 USD phones nowadays. Gcam mod helps a bit, but it doesn't magically turn it into a camera phone.

I still have my old Oneplus 5 and it already has Android 12 Pixel Experience and Los rom in beta stage. I contribute to them monthly, some euros, not much but if everyone gives something, they can continue to develop and improve the software. And let me tell you, this Android 12 custom rom is miles ahead of own Oneplus Oxygen OS....

mostly close to the AOSP and CAF without massive changes
                                  no any tracker, logger
monthly support, close connection with users (telegram)
different devs developing ROMs for a single device so it's kinda of a college for devs
why custom ROMs are losing devs daily?
no paid work so some take it as wasting time without any profit (they're human too)

You'll wonder how a custom ROM performs much better than official ROM. Planned obsolescence maybe. Lucky enough to the OnePlus 8 series users you can unlock the bootloader & flash custom ROMs if 1+ f#cks up. It's interesting how OEMs don't allow rollbacks after an update 😀
