Motorola tipped to launch two flagships next month with Snapdragon chips

I have the original generation edge Plus from 2020. This was Motorola's first attempt at a flagship smartphone in years. It had a curved edge display, high-res refresh rate, OLED screen, turbo boost and wireless charging capability, dual speakers tuned by meridian, and the latest Snapdragon processor (also available in the Samsung Galaxy Google Pixel flagships). Unfortunately, the follow-up 2021 edge is nowhere near as good and is a real disappointment and dealbreaker when it comes to upgrading. Motorola took away the edge display, it has a single speaker (on the bottom), no oled display, no wireless charging support, it's Android and security patch updates are only mediocre and it still doesn't have full waterproof IP rating. So there's no real reason to upgrade. Considering LG has left the smartphone market for good, that only leaves Google, Samsung, and Motorola in the flagship Android smartphone arena.

There is no need to try to enter the high-end phone market if you are not going to provide more than one OS update and uncertainty on how how many security patches as well. I wouldn't buy a mid-ranger with Moto's poor track record in this area.

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2021Go for Samsung. You get three software updates. You get bet... more...the exact answer I would expect from a Samsung Fanboy.
In the next 1-2 years I expect Motorola to gain substantial maketshare, - hope your opinion still can change. There are some really decent Moto Phones on the market already, the one that are coming now also seem to be very competitive.

Good decision, come with 68W charger. It is Super Sonic speed charging era today.

Even while the Moto Edge Plus has it's own issues, that phone has a higher re sale value in my country than a S21 and it's Plus model.
Only iPhone have stupidly high re-sale value here.

Go for Samsung. You get three software updates. You get better resale value. You get better screen and camera. You get more feature rich user interface. It is your choice anyway.

Motorola really have to focus on adding some software features like other custom UI from other manufacturers while still maintaining close to stock android look.
Bring Features like dual app support and few easy access options and tweeks. Include some bells and whistles without bloatware.
I am just not buying motorolas as they are laking few much needed software features like other manufacturers provide with their custom ROM.

Why is it so funny. Rip off from one which is ripped off from another, which was also ripped off.

Hopefully this time it doesn't blunder on the screen department like the Edge Plus did (no they still didn't fix that)

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2021Which is a good thingThere is plenty of choice if you want non-3.5mm equipped phones not so much if you want one with a 3.5mm socket. Motorola can really stand out from the crowd of identikit phones if it makes available 3.5mm socket and card slot on a high end phone.

And this is the phone we all (moto users) have been waiting for.
I expect to replace my current Edge (1st gen) with one of these two.

Their last best designs were their Force series of smartphones which they discontinued. I still have an X Force and it works fine but unfortunately no spares or battery is available to extend the life
