If I remember, they still manage to sell like 12 million iPhone 5C was sold which is somewhat solid but definitely shit by Apple standards

        It was still stupidly expensive for what it was, the iPhone 5 original was better - Although I feel iPhone 5C is like the phone that kind of set the stage for the iPhone XR style colors - it still had bullshit price tag- these pre 2014 days were dark when budget phone choices were at best mediocre, especially in US where a lot of budget phones were contract dogshit without even a FM radio

            GSMArena writers needs to spell it iPhone 5C and 5S. Not 5s which sounds like buying multiple iPhone 5(s) in plural. I made the same mistake for years. It's stylized as iPhone 5s but it's really spelled 5S. It's similar to Flip3. I spell it Flip 3. I ignore the stylized spelling.

                These are still popular in 3rd world countries and in Asia, even if it doesnt get the ios updates anymore. If Apple will release this with 64gb, updated chip and cheap price? People will buy this for sure.

                  Surprised it didn't sell well. Every other kid in my school had one when it came out. I would've thought this was one of the most popular iPhones ever.

                              I think the issue with this is that normally, Apple tends to keep selling their older model at a discount instead. People would've expected the iPhone 5 to continue to be sold instead of them introducing what is in effect a altered version of that same model. And at the same price for what Apple would've sold the 5 for had they continued selling it! You can see why next year, when they introduced the 6 series, they actually kept selling the 5s without any changes.

                                    I dont even remember if it was sold here or promoted at all. Without contract, it was probably only marginally cheaper, for a substantial downgrade from the 5s. People would have bought just the 5 instead
