Guys, I definitely saw this feature on either Telegram or Signal, (I have both). I don't remember which one. I think Whatsapp is copying them. Or am I getting something wrong?

If so, then its very unethical on Whatsapp's part.. or can it be argued this was Facebook's original idea? I'm not sure.

Of course I don't, but i don't care actually, as Javascript developer I'm pretty sure that i can't protect 90% of my data online, so which company gets it, is it Google, Huawei, xiaomi samsung, apple or meta, it changes nothing. Best you can do is not posting personal info and pictures.
