Apologies to the person I was rude to.
No excuse for rudeness.

Anonymous, 23 Nov 2021A fanboy of what ? I haven't said I am a fan of anythi... moreExcuse me, but you are the one trying to add only your own view to the argument and even was rude in doing so. The original argument was "Did Samsung remove ads from its phones?". You then went on and on about how literally we can just ignore the practice of sending ads.
Not many users, if any user will defend Samsung practice of sending ads in the first place (actually Samsung got lambasted in user forums over the last 2 years), yet you are trying to justify what Samsung is doing by coming out with indefensible excuse such as "some weird people like ads". Your attempt looked like what a fanboy would do, even though you may deny it.

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2021Really?? What about a calculator (Xiaomi default) app that ... moreI haven't been using regular Miui for several years now, but on Xiaomi.eu the calculator doesnt ask for any such permissions (with that being said there are different versions of the calculator app depending on which which rom you use)

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2021Well if you turned on ads and marketing then yeah you will ... moreI have heard that Samsung is more aggressive with ads on the USA models. Since you have the International model (I do also), the ads are more tame (Except you have popup ads in Galaxy store). Also, Samsung isn't exactly the nicest when it comes to minimal analytics. There are so many services that I need to disable via ADB and I can't even disable "Game Optimization Service", because it just re-enables itself instantly (still looking for a solution that does not involve me rooting my device.
TLDR: I have no experience with ads on MiUI, but Samsung's phones aren't exactly a lightweight experience without using ADB to disable bloatware.

you just jumping to conclusions to try and add substance to your little argument.
I could not care less which company I use, which company survives, which company goes bust or whatever.
I do care about individuals losing their s**t but companies can come and go, I don't give a hoot
And some weird people don't mind ads, especially if they are related to things they are into

Anonymous, 23 Nov 2021Yes because someone people choose to have ads, that's ... moreYou said my comment sounded dumb, yet you said some people CHOSE to have ads. I haven't seen users asking for Samsung to continue sending ads to their phones in any user forum, so the verdict is you sounded dumb. Or I just don't understand the logic of fanboys like you?

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2021Well if you turned on ads and marketing then yeah you will ... moreYou don't understand what I am trying to say. If Samsung truly removed ads as claimed by the commenter I replied to, then there should be no need to disable ads. The fact that there is still that option means Samsung haven't stop sending ads to some models.

I know because I am using A52 and when I turn on 'Customised ads & direct marketing' in Privacy, ads will appear in Galaxy apps i.e. Galaxy Store.
