Proper file management, widgets are still better on Android 5.0.
Ios widgets are an embarrassment. Even the basic icons on the home screen can't make use of big screen by having more rows or columns.
True multitasking still not available on ios.

In terms of what Android 4 is better then iOS 15?

I've never had Apple devices, and currently I'm using Nokia 8 Sirocco, which I bought in December, 2018 (the phone is from April, 2018) and which is my first Android device. I just try to understand where did all this hate come from?

The first iPhone SE and the LG G5 were released in 2016 but I can already tell how much these phones have both aged in their 5th year. The G5 didn't get updated beyond Nougat. It will occasionally hang and I can no longer download apps from the Play Store. While I updated my SE to the latest iOS and it made it practically unusable losing 3% every few minutes.

So whether I updated them or not, still has problems 5 years later. But when I use my Essential Phone which is only a year younger, it still works fine like it's still came right out of the box. It seems 2017 is the new cut off point. Not 2016. I'm guessing that Snapdragon 835 was stellar because I see lag on 820 when running Dreamcast and PSP emus. Totally smooth on 835.

I do think current phones or least by 2017 can last much longer than ones released in 2011.

Back in 2011, we still had phones with less than 1 GB of RAM. Bought a BlackBerry Bold 9000 and Apple iPhone 4S earlier this year. The Bold can only be used as a media player for music and videos. The 4S which I sold for double for what I got for no longer has a functional YouTube app. Can only view it from Safari and browsing on Safari was awful by iOS6. Practically unusable. Couldn't make comments from Safari.

I bought a Nexus 5 as well earlier this year. That's serviceable for browsing and YouTube but it's still very laggy. I don't see animation stutter but it does stall quite a bit. I'm guessing because it's Marshmallow and only 2 GB RAM. Still had the slower eMMC back in 2013 which slows down over time with dying memory cells if you keep adding and deleting stuff.

My guess is phones from 2017 like my Essential Phone will be even more serviceable by 2027 than say a Nexus 5 by 2023 but the lack of RAM and inability to use current apps will hurt it. It's only the insufficient RAM, lack of updates, and a degraded sealed battery that forces us to upgrade to another phone. But many phones can be very usable for even a decade.

Thats the problem with year by year fast android version releases. 11 just arrived but 12 is here, and soon 13 is around the corner & so on & so forth.

Google should release an Android version update every two or three years instead of every year, and focus on getting security updates for everyone
