Apple's digital ID program delayed for early 2022

The rollout will begin in the U.S. with Arizona and Georgia being the first states to support the program.

This is a valid legal document pulled from respective complying authorities automatically through your mobile number (there is an established infrastructure like Adhaar system which has citizens data linked to the mobile number through secured methods like biometric, mobile number, OTP combination) . When you show the app to the authorities it gives bar codes as well so that the officials seeking the info can verify it at their ends without touching anything.

    If you can get but one page showing
    Your name
    Your address
    and Your birthdate
    well, yes, that is all you need to say to the police officer.
    You then need to have a quick switch to a vid to make a recording of the potential conversation. If the officer insists you get out of your car you need a button that uploads all that transpired to a server to which only you have access.
    I am not an attorney and this is not a legal advice. But I feel that if the iPhone has these features then the iPhone is surely on my side (the side that paid good money to Apple and where I own the phone completely).

Which is a basis for security and integrity of ID's. It's like you people have no clue how any of it works. But lets have a whine at Apple because it's trendy to do so.

              This time it's integrating the Identification system digitally to your devices, not the same thing. Now, with this you can do more of what you needed a physical card for.

              More of like a digital bank card.

Such state wide changes on something as big as ID's is not something you do in 2 months. It takes long time to prepare and execute the whole thing and make it actually function.                             In India there is an App called DigiLocker that integrates all sort of government issued documents, insurance, Registration Documents, Driver License, Voter IDs etc 4-5 years back.
