I notice this on many Apps. On top of this, it makes the phone wider everso slightly, and especially if you need to protect those corners with a case. The phone does become less ergonomic for touch typing, and more slippery. We already know, the data shows that curved phones have compromised durability.
Aesthetics is the only reason anyone can provide for Curved Screen.
Well, do they realise that aesthetics are subjective?
I would say, that curved screen actually makes it look UGLY simply because your image gets distorted, and you have these light glares hitting your eyes.
But that's just me. I prefer a phone that looks good in my hand, rather than a fake render they generate to boost their marketing ambitions, to show off those curves.

Funnily enough my Mi 10 screen I very durable. I consider it the most durable ever on a smartphone. I dropped a lot of times, I bend my phone so hard it still wouldn't flex much.

Last year (this year) they failed. Now they are giving a revamped Mi 10. I don't like that. Give me 2k display. Give me whatever ugly forehead, if that means you'll give Samsung displays. Now they are most likely going for some china star (Huaxing) display which is no different from 2 years ago ( same resolution, maybe only smaller punch hole).

There is absolutely no advantage of curved screens. What's the point of additinal 1-2mm of screen width when it generates additional reflections and picture distorsions.

Slabs should have flat displays.
A bracelet could have a "curved" display. Curving around the arm, but not curving to the sides there either.
