I see that Sony is starting to release good (powerful) IP57 certified smartphones. Up until now Scamsung, Motorola and others only realeased budget smartphones that are dust and waterproof.
I like Sony more and more, it seem they are a company that listens to customers and doesn't only try to rip them off.
Yes, I'm looking at Scamsung!
Good job Sony!

Well instead of this chat feature becoming a war zone for lovers and haters for all kinds of brands, I wanted ot leave a positive post. I have an Xperia V, I paid a lot for my Xperia V and it is the best phone I have ever had. Everything I love about a phone is here. The design of Arc S, the power I need for gaming, the camera is phenomenal, it's water proof for beer spills and the Sony Android overlay isnt too clunky.

So if anyone is actually reading this because they are interested in this phone. Then take an opinion from someone that actually uses it and can speak from experience. This phone is just beyond a dream to use, it has style, substance and it performs well. There is a lot of Android phones out there with questionable build quality and this one stands out from the crowd.

Ololo, that's not steep for Russia. Galaxy S3 when launched cost 29900 (around $1000). iPhone5 which just hit the shelves here in Moscow is the same price $1000. the 32gb version is around $1150. So, no, I'd say the price for xperia V is pretty reasonable =))

$800++?? Nope thanks, better go buy Asus N46vm-v3036D laptop. High end smartphone now getting ridiculous in price, but still they are has some of limitations. Laptop has better in gamming, and aplicatios, and etc etc..

Another bad move of Sony. They just can't keep up with the competition. At that price the battery should last at least 5 days of hard using. Or to have a great camera. Or to do some magic stuff :D

Luckily the price of this phone is much cheaper in Singapore.

Retail price without contract is only $698SGD, about $571USD.

Sony thinks it is still trinitron era which they can price same stuff higher than competitor. Sony fails.

I don't know about Russia in particular but I imagine electronics prices there are roughly the same as throughout Europe, meaning: TOO DAMN HIGH! At least a third higher than in the US. It's mostly due to the fact of over taxation and European dealers ripping everybody off - it seems as though the better off a country is the cheaper the electronics.

Another cheap shot to Sony. In Sweden its priced at SEK5,290 ($790), in Hong Kong its only HK$4,390 ($580) and in Singapore S$698 ($575) but why announce Russia with a hefty price? Oh, come on!
I always visit the site for the latest mobile news but when it comes to Sony, I really dont trust this.

Sony really aren't interested in competing now anyway.

Chinese phone makers have better specs now.

Interesting to see what they do at the MWC2013.
Want to complete with Samsung and Apple they have to
release something with up to date specs not 2 years behind and wonder why sales suck.
