    Dudenoway, 06 Dec 2021Well I mean whatever. Hey I'm not that good at grammer... moreThe way it is said is a night and day difference, that's because of harsh judgements that the Android market is so awful with nothing but punch holes and 2Mp depth + macro combo.

      AnonD-909757, 02 Dec 2021Opinion = "I find it ugly". Judgement/statement ... moreWell I mean whatever. Hey I'm not that good at grammer either. But yk what I meant tho.

            Not entirely sure what the hubbub is all about, but personally, I feel a more important feature would be to make a display that is still visible when outside in bright sunlight.

              wiseone, 02 Dec 2021I just don't like the moto logo ╮(^▽^)╭Funny coz technically its one of the best logos in the history of visual design. It stands for two radio towers creating an M for the brand name. In motorola USA office they used to promote it as "batwing design".

                  This tech is stupid, and needs to fail miserably. Sliders on an iPhone could make sense since it could accommodate face id as well.

                      ?????

                      That's the only reason UDC is a thing, because almost everyone is tired of holes and notches which are hideous.
                      How disconnected from the reality one need to be to justify a hole or dent in a display?
                      Think about how stupid the concept is.

                      If you like holes that much, go watch trypophobia images, and leave displays alone, enjoy :

                            Solution would be to bring back real fingerprint sensors on the back

                              Honestly, I wish we went back to the S8, Note 8, S9, Note 9 days. Those were MILES better. We didn't have any interference on the screen, we had places to rest our hands when gripping our phone in landscape and we could have a front-facing camera with all those sensors, don't even get me started on the Iris scanner.

Plus the atrocious camera image is already a negative.

                                  Spanky, 30 Nov 2021Tell that to the fruit-logo company and their ancient notches. 😄A notch with all the FaceID sensors is still much better than a notch or hole for ONLY a single camera, and massively better than UDC who will definitely kill face biometric as it is totally incapable of allowing a proper one.
                                  The Galaxy S8/S9 and Oppo Find X front sensor designs were still the superior ones.

                                    There is no one because this tech is awful, stupid, and already showed its limits, everyone tried to improve on it internally with tons of costly R&D (that one day everyone will regret having to cover when smartphones price will skyrocket).

                                    But ZTE released a botched version just to claim to be the first, exactly like how the Tu-144 was an awful botched aircraft only made to beat the Concorde, and other brands had to follow to not lose credibility, but they would have otherwise still been years away from release, exactly as it has been years that this tech is announced, in fact, Oppo thought they could have put on with the Find X2 and be the first to commercialize it, just to withdraw and settle with a punch hole, prior to that, the tech has been long in the R&D.
                                    https://www.gsmarena.com/oppo_vp_confirms_no_underdisplay_camera_for_find_x2_teases_other_surprises-news-40902.php

                                    It is probably one of the longest, if not THE longest tech in the smartphone industry that was in R&D before being released, and even there, the release is more of a beta than a final product, and if it wasn't for ZTE trying to flex, it would still have been.
                                    But once they'll realize that it will be useless to improve further on the display or quality issue (as you can't have one working without the other being compromised) as it will never be done in a cheap large scale production AND that people have anyway accepted the poor quality that comes with it, you'll start to flood the market with this crap, despite MUCH BETTER alternatives existing, such as disappearing camera :
                                    * https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-under-display-camera-phone-1188611/
                                    * https://www.gsmarena.com/googles_first_foldable_could_have_a_disappearing_underdisplay_camera-news-49223.php
                                    Which, for the end user (you), basically do the same (full display with no holes/dents) except that it allow 100% quality for both, AND, allow for privacy, while actually being simpler and even cheaper to make.

                                    I just hope this tech fail massively, so disappearing camera can emerge, while bezels, pop-ups, sliders and no front camera would come back stronger once people realize they were actually much better than the haters constantly tried to imply, and, as only positive aspect, UDC thingy could help make people realize how much they hate punch holes when they got from "I love punch holes" to "I can't wait for UDC".
                                    We do NOT need another privacy endangering tech becoming mainstream.

                                      Spanky, 30 Nov 2021Tell that to the fruit-logo company and their ancient notches. 😄Atleast Apple has a reason why it kept the Notch for this long which is because of face id, but Android phones have no need for punch holes and notches anymore when there are 2 better solutions for the front camera. It's not that Samsung can't do it, it's just that they don't want to

                                        AnonD-909757, 30 Nov 2021We certainly don't need every phone to have this shitt... moreActually, no one is suffocating anyone with this awesome technology, as there are still very few phones which have implemented it, unfortunately. I was really hoping that this year would see a widespread adoption of under-display cameras.

                                        So, three cheers to Motorola/Lenovo from me!
