They are definitely a bit behind some of the other larger brands that I have used previously like Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo in terms of software features and OS updates although on the plus side there is also less bloatware.

            I did understand the point about debloat being simplicity. My point being that debloat is almost always necessary in most devices by Chinese OEMs, no choice involved. It therefore is fundamentally different than customization\personalizing the phone with apps\launchers\themes which one chooses to do and is in no way necessary for a good bunch.

            But different perspectives. Totally respect yours.

They added a lot of features in the updates like dual app opening, different cloud services, different home screen design and new camera modes, and quite a lot of Chinese centered stuff that I don't use. They are new to China though so they need to add stuff quickly to compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Honor all of which have better software for Chinese models

                      PixelFan, 08 Dec 2021Pretty sure, most people can figure out how to debloat thei... moreSorry if I sounded rude in my comment I appreciate your reply, my point (rather crudely made) was that yes im not denying they use ads, which I believe is one of the ways they can make their handsets so competitively priced but it's not actually the big deal breaker a lot of people seem to think it is. You can genuinely very simply and in a very short space of time remove all the ads and either delete or at the very least disable any other stuff you don't want or need on your phone. In a way it's no different to if you install a 3rd party launcher or theme your phone, you still have to change things and spend a little time 'customising' it to your personal taste. Hope that explains my point a little clearer. Peace ✌️

                            My personal take here is that if I paid full price for it then I expect it to work seamlessly out of the box. It's why I took a shine to stock android and to a lesser extent to OneUI (bloat is less but ads are nonexistent).

                            People who crib about bloat\adware do make a valid point, you shouldn't have to do go through so much trouble to debloat a device, nor should you need to set your device location to EU or Canada to not receive ads. The fact that users are supposed to do this screams bad design on the OEMs part.

                            Anyways, it's great you're enjoying your Xiaomi products. Out of the Chinese OEMs, they're the only ones who I can respect besides Realme.

Not terrible but definitely not amongst the best for updates. The updates are bringing a lot of new stuff though (but also some bugs until the last update which seemed to sort out the main bugs)

I went on YouTube and took about 30 seconds to find out how to turn off ALL the ads on my Poco X3 NFC and haven't seen one since! Guess I'm just old school and don't cry when I have to actually do something for myself. And for all you Xiaomi/Poco haters out there it's the best phone I've ever owned and miui is great

Some models getting 1 Android version update, while budget models like Moto E series are ignored from any Android update. Even flagships are not guaranteed to receive 2 Android updates from Motorola

                                    Doesn't look premium. All Motorola phones are looking similar. Also software support is not good. Seems like a mid-ranger to me with high end snapdragon chipset.
