They apparently didn't feel they were competitive in this area and decided to focus on other growth areas. Google is different. Google is not in the business of making phones and they just do it to showcase their "stock" Android. They're most likely making a loss on their phones.

    LG's exit from the smartphone market really shows what is wrong with the smartphone industry, not forgetting the likes of popular sponsored YouTubers who keep showing their sickly brand fanboyism. I only started to know LG since mid-2019 because of the V50 and its DualScreen case but it was love at first sight for me because of how individually diffferent LG was. Sure that limited market availability contribute to their loss, but Google Pixel smartphones are being sold in even fewer countries than LG smartphones in general, and yet they are still here. It really doesn't feel right at all.
