None of their standards are new nor used by others nor copied. In fact the only original anything apple has are their silicon and software. Outside of that they have not invented anything in the past couple decades imo.

wow alot of apple fanbois posting about how much better apple will be at standardizing VR

i guess you have not actually used or own a vr device already, unless it connects to a pc or has a large amount of storage it is a useless device, quests were ok till they allowed the pc to connect to it then it jumped a level.

mobile hardware is not upto standard for vr yet and to get gaming good you need a high refresh rate and ability to hit that refresh rate otherwise vr feels janky and can make you feel queasy.

it may be a decent device but without collaborating with the other platforms it wont be much use and we know Apple don't like to share and wont allow other apps to have a market on there devices so not many devs will pay the apple tax till its actually got a good install base to warrant it.

apple today are not apple of 2007, all innovation has been missing since jobs died so dont expect much from this

Just wait till Apple drops their AR/VR whatever device and all the Samsungs, Xiaomi's, Oppos and Realmes will copy it. I think it'll still be stupid and useless just like all VR headsets, but it'll be popular because after 30 years of everyone trying to do VR, Apple will "standardize" something within it to a point it'll actually be usable and widely used.

You won't see a developer version of this released will you? It is purely a money making market move. The fact that they can and it will move forward is a business model decision plain and simple.

This reminds me of smartphones in 2006. There were touch screens. There were apps. Phones could play music. Phones could access the internet.

But Apple brought it all together in a way that made the most sense. I get Android fans might not want to acknowledge it, but Apple changed the industry in 2007. This seems very similar.

Lives outside USA, and you will realize how inferior apple exclusive apps are.

Samsung realizes this weakness from Apple and choose to make deeper collaboration with more experienced 3rd party companies like Google or Microsoft, instead of creating their own half-baked a la Apple exclusives app.
