wow!the longvwait is over.well i hope that we can also expect that january release here in asia.most of the time the initial update goesto europe 1st and it takes month before it would be released on asian regions.also excited for S2 users.they been getting update after update!good job samsung!hipe that original note 2 can be updated to 3 more OS.

As a part of strategy Samsung has got sales figures in their mind for both Galaxy S3 and Note 2 devices. updating their predecessors would give customers a choice of purchase hence it would slow down S3 and Note 2 device sales. Once the target is achieved, the market gets saturated, with no other phone developed to replace the existing segment device, to clear the inventory, to again increase sales for better quarterly revenue results etc. Samsung will roll out jellybean update.
Earlier it was end of October then the date got shifted to November and then to December and now it is January which I doubt. It would be better to disclose the shelve life of both S2 and Note 1 and the sales figures targeted v/s achieved for S3 and Note 2 devices. so that we can calculate that at what point of time Samsung will play its next strategic move. The moment shelve lives of both the predecessors start causing more inventory cost and Samsung will realize that time has come to replace Note2 and S3 with something new; Samsung will start rolling Jellybean update to cash the benefits of leftover stock and the planned one for next 2-3 quarter because orders for hardware components has already been placed through forward contracts which as per rules of Forex market, they cant back out.

DOVICE, 18 Dec 2012Omitted to mention that one of the reasons I'm disgusted wi... moreMan, do you know how to read...this is good news, because they will not seed the 4.1.1 update but the 4.1.2, wich gives you numerous of Note and S III goodies. Instead of giving it on december, decided to give it on january and instead of you making 2 updates and 2 fabric resets...you have only one big update and one fabric reset to make him work properly. But you can stop using Samsung/android and go to Apple because they are the ones, they are cool...they release updates that doesn't give anything great to old devices or make them worst...oh yes, and Apple is loyal to their costumer that is why they released iPad 3 and only a few months after released iPad 4...yes, Apple is the Sh*t! Go for it ;) man...wake up...Samsung made some mistakes in the past but now they are on the right track. Right now samsung is making a greater job in updating phones than even SONY. And don't mistake me... I like SONY! But I sold "my heart" to S3...without doubt the most awesome device on the market! Even Touchwiz features is kicking Htc's sense. Good job samsung!

I got tired of waitig and rooted my s2 to jelly bean bean last night. So far, so good. Every thing is runnng silky smooth.

When is the Note getting 4.1 in Australia?! We haven't got it yet!!! Samsung really needs to get their act together and release the updates globally at the same time.

What about JB 4.1.2 for Note II. Samsung released it for only one CSC, Play in Poland, and does not move from there any further. Anybody has any idea?

I don't understand the people that say they will buy inferior products from other companies just because Samsung releases too many phones or it takes too much time to release updates. That updated phone you'll get will still be inferior because software alone can't do magic. And, btw, there's no plot from Samsung to make the S2 look bad and sell more S3s as the Note 2 didn't receive it either (except for Poland).

k3vin, 18 Dec 2012i just wish it appears when u search for update in ur phone... moreIf you read all about what you need to do to flash with Odin BEFORE you do it you should be fine, there are plenty of guides out there to walk you through it. But if you wait the update will come as an ota update or via kies (kies though is universally accepted that it sucks) eventually. odin is a samsung utility anyway AFAIK (correct me if im wrong) so risks should be minimal especially as it is a stock samsung firmware not cm or anything that requires root and flashing from cwm recovery.
