The Gpu thing is not convincing.
Tipo too has adreno 200.
xperia E ,J and tipo ,miro has same specifications almost. with adreno 200 gpu's
then why no update for tipo and miro??

Samsung has evolved from that to the company that now supports their flagships way beyond their rivals.
What does Sony do? It just launches new phones and kills support to phones that were launched this year (despite the promises of 18 months of updates).

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2012Sony is not a copycat of samsung, samsung is a copycat. Loo... moreSony promised 18 full months of updates, like it has promised in the past to previous phones.
Clearly one of us sucks really bad at math, I could have sworn 18 months were more than just a year.

Sony does not copycat Samsung, yet (somehow) you do feel the need to constantly reference previous Samsung instances that either were in the market (for phones) or happened before the Sony comparisons (for policies).
Do you even know the meaning of the word or are you just impaired in that way?

FACT: Two companies release their flagship at just around the same time. One year later, one of the flagships is still getting support (Galaxy S2), the other is already killed (Arc S).

Spin that all you want, the fact is not going to change.
Deny all you want that Sony has the promise of 18 months of updates, apparently it takes knowing math and not just reading to realize 18 months is more than a year.

What might happen is anyone's guess.
What has already happened is a fact and the fact is Sony has already let down their costumers time and time again in that very same regard.

You either smarten up or bend over and take it.
I see you already made your preferences.

Hmm.... I didn't know that phones with worse GPU (Adreno 200) have better chances of getting the latest Android OS than phones with better GPU (Mali-400).
        That's like LOL!
I see Sony has made some customers angry, but you musn't forget that Scamsung was the same when they released ICS, except for SGS1 users, while Sony on the other had released ICS for some of their low-budget 2011 models.

it's a lie! The newly announced xperia E has the same hardware and ram as miro and tipo but comes out with JB!!
That's the usual gimmick aimed at selling new devices instead of supporting the ones already sold, and what's more shame they are well within the usual 1 year support period!
I thought it was only Samsung to do these things, but I see Sony is following...

if only it was possible that all disappointed sony users could dump their used phones in front of their office to show their feelings .. that would really make a statement .. Sony is not only late in delivering updates but also abandoning some models so that those 2011 models and also a few very good 2012 models (sola and U ) dont cannibalize the sales of their unnecessarily long and identical product line up..

well if you are rolling out JB so late, might as well give 4.2 and not 4.1

completely B** Sh*t .. i own an arc s and have been been running custom ROMs for some time now .. i have used JB 4.1.2 and even 4.2 !!!! they both work buttery smooth much much better than SONY's "best user experience ICS" .. the very fact that Galaxy S advance which has the same specs as arc s would be getting the official JB update proves that SONY is just negligent company or a company filled with incompetent developers !!!

So there will be no update for Neo L. Including sony's mobile phone brochure planned update is not written. Everybody should read the specs carefully before buying.

XS will recieve update, whats the problem with that? S2 update was delayed, and might be canled if not recieved in january.

All others are very low end Androids. Is that your comparison point for the last years (Sony) flagship?
You should have just focused on this years Xperia U, Sola, Miro and Tipo.

But then again, this is not a mediocrity competition.
I couldn't care less as to what brand is able to be the crappiest, being them all crap. What I want is comparison to excellence.

Apple is still updating phones from 2009!
Now, who is making overprice crap? Yes you are (Sony), yes you are (Sony).

Reality is only one, last years flagship was left without support in less than a year from launch (an absolute no-go in that market share). 2012 "in-house" phones like Xperia U, which featured the much taught NXT design and sported the full Sony branding, are left without support the very same year they are launched.

This years flagship under the NXT design (Xperia S) has been relegated to the last batch. Have no doubts that will be the last update it will ever get from Sony (that's their MO).

You fool me once, shame on you.
You fool me twice, shame on me. Shame on me for falling once again into your scheme.

                            That is Sony right now.
A copy of all that Samsung did bad in years past, now Samsung actually supports their flagships for far beyond what is the "Android manufacturer" standard.

If you want things to change, then boycott their phones.
It's not like there aren't any alternatives in the market.

Sony had lived up the promise. Look at every phone specs where the planed update leads, only arc s didn't get it, because it's a sony-Ericsson. Now with regards to update only sony has made the most update with midrange phones. Samsung has only announced 2 phones, so don't get angry. S2 was promised to have an update october, but it was postponed many times. And maybe it will be canceled if they don't have it on january. Cheers to sony.

Really disappointing that Xperia S is one of the last model to receive JB despite that Xperia S is Sony's first flagship smartphone of 2012. Imagine, JB will roll out for Xperia S end of April 2013, so globally it will take until May or early June of 2013. This is really annoying. OMG, Sony never learned at all. I have been a Sony (Ericsson) fan since their very first P-Series smartphone but with this kind how Sony is dealing with their customers, Samsung will remain Number 1 for many, many more years to come and Sony will remain poor 4th or 5th place phone manufacturer for the next 10 years also. It so happened that I don't like Samsung phones (I am also using iPhone & HTC).
