Foldables are no regardless of brand.
They are nothing but big thick expensive fragile phones compared to regular bar phones.
No matter the brand basic phone will be always the winner.
Because of durability and capability to out it into pockets witout any damage because they arent that heavy.
Also the bar phones are easy to put screen cover on and a book case and arent as fragile as foldables,
Half of the planet can barely buy a phone worth 200 so i dont see any reason for making foldable phones.

It's a really good foldable. The only thing I don't like is the form factor, it's too small. If I want it to unfold into a tablet, it should have bigger screen.
I really like the fact that it is wider, hope Samsung take some notes here.
Note - I was also paid handsomely by Samsung.

Cannot compare to the likes of Samsung.
(Yes, I was paid a hefty sum to say this)

Tech made with samsung tech inside. Then slap on an oppo software that would have poor software support then call it a day. Then sites would say this is the best? Hahaha.

From a functionality point of view it is the most polished
The mate X IS SECOND and Samsung is dead last
Samsung gives you a remote control shaped screen when folded and then gives you a rectangular tablet when unfolded
forcing you to rotate the phone to get it in landscape unfolded which makes no sense
And as usual we have apple taking notes waiting to copy people's homework like on the find N
Then releases it as innovation and their fans will praise them

For their first foldable, I'd believe their statement on "6th gen hinge design" because they did really well. I like their almost 1:1 ratio folding screen and the nicely compact 5.5" small screen, battery is nice, camera is nice, design is nice, its a nice all rounder. However, in typical Oppo fashion, the software is lacking in the small things, just minor annoyances but other than that Kudos to Oppo for changing it up a bit and making improvements from current foldables.

It's not a bad phone, per say. They are after all using mostly Samsung tech in it. The dealbreaker is however the lack of water resistance. Oher than the fact that I personally prefer the much smaller clamshell design of my Flip3.
We'll have to see how the folding mechanism fares. Tech influencers are all saying it's completely crease-free, even though there is a very visible crinkling effect across a wide part of the centre of the screen. Another durability worry is that the moving parts behind the centre of the screen has to be mass produced to a higher accuracy need than the hinge on the Samsung phones or you will end up with variations with innie and outie creases.
But, for me, as long as the warranty is void if it rains, it is not a phone for me.

I didn't answer the poll because my answer is:
"They did a DARN good job but I won't call it the best".
I don't want to say 'no' like they blew it because they didn't. It's a stellar form factor with an attractive price.

Any OEMs could easily build their own Android device, but samsung still the only Android OEM that delivers perfect combination between software and hardware.
