You ap... moreThat's cool and all, but some people use something called a case, which is designed to prevent that kind of stuff from happening. I believe plastic backs (matte) benefit more for cases because they don't shatter and the case protects the back from scratching. However, I also believe that glass is it's own form of nice due to the back never deforming, making weird sticky noises. Glass and Plastic each have their own benefits, but I will say that glossy plastic is just plain ridiculous.

Good news? That's horrible news!
Glass is never more sturdy than plastic. It weighs more and it's also more slippery, plus it's a goddamn fingerprint magnet! And it's more expensive. I really can't see any benefits of the glass backsides. It was a really stupid move of Samsung to choose glass.

Glass is worst material to have on the back. Google showed it can be metal and still charge wirelessly, why is glass still an option? Regardless, plastic is fine and they could have went ceramic if they really wanted it to have a glassy look/feel but that's also worse than plastic or metal.
